Need shocks for 72 K10

So I am at a loss here, I have a 72 K10 4x4 that had an old style 4" lift on it, thing rode like there was no suspension it was so rough. So I got the 2" tough country EZ-ride for it and some Rancho 9000 adjustable shocks. I have gone through 3 pair of front shocks since August 2011, and the truck doesn't get driven much. The front end will bounce after a big bump like crazy, the steering wheel doesn't wobble, it has new ball joints. New steering stableizers and alignment. I have tried different air pressure in the tires as well, 31x10.50's

I don't know what to do it seems like the shocks are bad again, I need something budget friendly, I don't off road much, any advice would be much appreciated!

Re: Need shocks for 72 K10

I have looked for hours to see what shocks and springs people run on here, I know lots of guys run the tuff country and run the Rancho 9000's. Has anyone had bad luck with the 9000 shocks?

I mean I would be happy with a monroe or Gabriel shock but they obviously dont list part numbers for lifts. Another very pricey option would be Blistein's...

Re: Need shocks for 72 K10

I have the tuff country SX8000 Gas shocks on my 4" tuff country ez-ride. I just finished it last weekend, and I am bouncing all over the place, so dont use those.

Re: Need shocks for 72 K10

Well I sent the Rancho's back and I looked at budget and quality. Was going to get Bilstein's from Autozone, they didnt carry the rears anymore so I decided to go with a simple cheap 4x4 shock. I got Skyjacker Hydro shocks, buy 3 get 1 free and free shipping from JCWhitney, and I have to say WOW! Couldn't be happier with the ride, it rides better then a stock truck now, no bounce, smooth and works well. Cant say for sure but it seems the high pressure Nitro shocks are bouncy or prone to ride bad and bounce? Anyway Skyjacker hydros are working great!

Re: Need shocks for 72 K10

Looking for shocks for a '72 K10 with stock suspension. Currently running with what it had when I bought it-OEMs rear and KYB front. Would like to reduce the bounce and still be able to haul heavy loads w/o sway. Any experience?
