Re: slammed 57

Back on the project, after having to remodel the bath room for the wife (which i thought it would take a few weeks turned into 2 months) Ha! boy was i wrong but I got it done ...so back to building FUN things!

received a new radiator with electric fans, I needed to move the radiator 1 1/4" foward through the core due to the belt drive line width.

re- designed the radiator core mount (the original one just wasn't goin to cut it)
still need to fill it the panels on both sides of the core to smooth it off

made some new core to frame mounts

finish her up this week some time

Very cool build. I'm making a new radiator core support right now for my '55.

Great work so far! I will be following your progress!

I"am using a 57 grill, from the center I have About 1 1/2" but it curves back on the ends , may have to trim about 1/4" but with the grill width about 3" it should still look like its sitting back deep enough, we shall see

Re: slammed 57

That is looking so GOOD!!!!! nice work on the frame welding and design. Sometimes its easier just to redo the whole thing rather than making the old stuff work!..... Great Job you did there.

oh, damn. Now I wish I had just fabbed my own core support. I swear every time I read through other build threads I get some very cool ideas. I've read several threads by new builders and the experience guys always tell them "read all the build threads you can" - that's good advise.

You're absolutly correct, problem is there are so many good build on here that i can get stuck reading all day on just build! LOL

You got your hands full on your build...Looking great... You got a ton of time of just figuring out measurements/specs there. I know the old rule of, measure twice cut once dont apply to us... its measure 15 times cut once! if not its a lot of time or money wasted.

Been a while since i last did an update due to life getting in the way but any how, Do you all sometimes like myself while at a car show walk around and something catches your eye of some fabrication work and you say to yourself " whoaaa, that looks nice!!! and then you start observing how they did it and then you say to your self " AHH! I can do that , it dont look that hard to do!" Well in this case it was front wheel wells and it was Challenging to say the least. but I managed to pull it of... I just have to replicate another one for the passenger side....jeez!

Hey Buddy,
You do some amazing work for sure, that's going to really look good. i mean, it really looks bad ass!! How are you rolling that new inner fender? You're making me think of doing something similar to mine now. How are you attaching these front and rear?? Thanks for posting.
