Enjoying the build. Gets me pumped up to get back on my recently acquired 70. Looks pretty clean for a PA truck (I am originally from Pittsburgh).

I've been in PA for about 3 years now, originally from Ohio. Bought the truck here. Had paperwork and I can track the truck back to one of the Carolinas. I don't remember which right off hand. The cab and doors need some work, but the frame itself is in really good shape.

I am pumped to finally be putting some work into it.

Been getting some things done here and there through the week. I did some digging online and found a set of frame braces that the guy said he would send me, so I am waiting on that, but figure I can move forward, and install those when I get them in.

I sandblasted and coated some parts in SEM Rust Shield. I also sanded, prepped and coated the mating surfaces of these parts, and where the new springs will sit.

I know I could have spent a few bucks and bought new spring retainers, but they were in good enough shape to reuse. You can also see my rear upper shock brackets that I reworked as outlined in This post. I didn't modify the lower brackets, but may if I feel like I need more travel.

Not sure how I feel about brushing the SEM rust coat on. I may spray the frame rather than brush it, and that will hit these parts again, so no worries for now. All the parts are ready to be put back on the rear.

Tomorrow should be a busy day. I got the Western Chassis front disk kit with drop spindles taken apart, bearings packed, and wheel seals installed ready to be thrown on.

Well Saturday happened, and I took my time getting back on here. I installed Western Chassis 6-lug disk brake kit with 2.5" drop spindles. CPP 1" lowering springs in front and 5" in rear. For the shocks I went with KYB Excel Gs.

Back on the Floor

You may notice that the rear axle is off center. I got a CCP adjustable track bar (straight), but the bolt on the frame side is siezed in the bearing sleeve I think. I'm gonna need to cut it I think, but I didn't have all day Saturday.

I received the frame braces that were sent to me. They are in really good shape. A good cleaning and a quick coating and they will be on. I still need to install the new master and bleed the brakes.
