Ididit steering column Help

Gentlemen,

I am getting ready to pull the trigger on a Ididit steering column for my 58 Cameo, just wondering what length you all went with? my truck has C4 front
with the C4 rack&pinion with the L98 motor from the vette also.
I have plenty of room for the install but get myself confused on the length
of column to Order! I stand 6'4" and probably will be going with a Billet specialty's steering wheel over the stock. Also would like the column shift
& indicator & tilt ? you guys Happy with yours? would you change anything if you could? just curious before i hit the Order Button!
Thanks for any Help on this!

Allen.

Re: Ididit steering column Help

Appreciate it Neojuice and have a copy of this also,
just wondering what length the Ididit users ended up using and determining
would work for them? and any regrets later after they determined what length they used?
Maybe over thinking this and apologize on my end,
Allen

Good info there but remember that you want to figure in the depth of the dish of your steering wheel. What feels perfect with a flat wheel might be too close to your chest if you change to a deeper dish wheel.

Re: Ididit steering column Help

Another thing to look at... depending on your configuration (key in the column, tilt, shifter on the column, etc...) Ididit columns are 3 pieces which makes the the tilt, shifter versions about 3" longer then at the drivers end compared to a "normal" column. So you have to take that (as well as your steering wheel, hub, etc...) into consideration.

Re: Ididit steering column Help

When measuring the column pay special attention to the distance between the dash and wheel surface, especially if you going to go with a shift column. It can make the wheel end up too close to the driver.

Re: Ididit steering column Help

I just put an Ididit tilt column in my 57 and the only advice I can offer is that you can't use the 2 1/2 inch column drop. I had to by a 3 1/2 inch drop to make it clear the instrument cluster.
