69 custom back to life.

This belonged to a coworker, and her Father took it all apart for what I assume would have a complete restoration. That was sometime in 2000-2002. I had talked to her about buying it for a couple months and she finally relented and sold me this 1969 Swb C10 for $3k. The past is bit murky with that much time having gone by. I have the original paperwork and I think from the numbers it was California plant truck. Ill post the SPID.

I have done work on these truck before and I'm no mechanic I just plug away and ask question. But this was my first time starting with a truck in this condition.

Anyway, I bought it a and had it towed to my home as it was completely gutted. Somewhere in its past it was I assume converted to power steering as that is not listed on the SPID and possibly power steering. The wheels to changed 5lug and a drop of the springs being cut was done.

I installed a laundry list of parts. The only thing that was kept was the semi-long long block SBC350. It's not the original one, some hencho in Mexico 350. I checked compression and that it turned over and put it back together.

I installed these parts in no particular order, just as I remember

All I had done outside of my garage was the paint and having installed, the wiring harness. That shop also fixed the brakes and installed a new E brake, Lokar shifter and throttle linkage and gas pedal.

Re: 69 custom back to life.

A few more... it cruising now. I don't think I will take on another project quit this involved again. It was fun and also quit frustrating, I'm glad it's running and no longer rotting away. I do need to get the tailgate trim piece and new hood hinges but it can wait for a bit. The sheet metal lines on the hood and fender aren't great but passable, for now.

Fine looking truck for sure! The wheel/cap/tire combo looks pretty darn good.
