47-55.1 S10 swap weld on kit

I have done a number of these trucks, you can view some of them in my profile galleries and also in some of my threads in the 47-59 project forum. this kit has been developed through the iterations of what works best and fastest. the structural parts are 3/16 steel and all parts are laser cut.

the kit is sold and shipped FLAT, you fold in a vice and weld. This is to save on shipping, my parts come in two priority mail flat rate boxes. There are some parts you will need in addition to my kit:

6 cab mount bushings from an s10, this kit allows for full rubber isolation mounting, no metal on metal mounting like a lot of swap kits, a rubber pad is not isolating.

2 ~51" pieces of 1x1.5 rectangle tube for bed crossmembers. if you want a solid base for a wood floor, my parts are designed to match the height of the gas tank crossmember and frame above the axle. you can add two more at the front and rear and planks will lay right on top. (shipping limitations are why I dont provide this, it is cheaper to pick up local than just the shipping would cost)

a 23" piece of 2" flat strap, or any type of tubing to close out the bottom of the radiator core support after you cut it. (shipping limitation as well, but I am designing a part for this purpose that will fit in the flat rate boxes)

bolts and nuts, about 13 dollars worth at TSC or Rural King or Atwoods or even the box home stores.

Everything about this kit is to make it easier, and especially less expensive when you consider the hours, than cutting them yourself. I used to cut them myself and it took 4-5 hours for just building cab mounts using a plasma cutter, even with templates they were not identical one to the next.

bolt on kits have a place, there is nothing wrong with a bolt on kit. if you have an ounce of welding skill and fab ability this kit represents a tremendous savings and allows you to start almost immediately, when laser parts are in stock handling time is under two days, usually same day if ordered before 2pm, and shipping time is 2-3 days.

I have been a paid supporting member of this forum for 15 years, now a vendor in the sense that I am a licensed business, but mostly I am a bored engineer with free time. I sell this kit online for $565 shipped, but for forum members you can PM me for a discount and I will knock another $20 off. If you are local or even local ish, I offer a local pickup discount that is significant.

I have 41-46 chevy kits in development now, and also other kits for other trucks. some of these parts are truly universal, like the running board and bed mounts, so if you are working on something random I will sell pieces. If you dont want or need a full kit I can sell any part individually.

I can take literally any form of payment, i primarily do business with square.com

Let me know if I can help

Re: 47-55.1 S10 swap weld on kit

Having done my own S10 chassis swap, if my next build happened to be either an AD or a 41-46 series truck I would use one of these kits. When I think of all the time it takes to figure things out, and the cost of the steel, these kits are a bargain.

Re: 47-55.1 S10 swap weld on kit

thanks guys!

and its true F&S, my 26 pc kit averages out to about 22 bucks each piece. even if you value your time at $10 a hour, , you would almost have 300 bucks in labor, plus cutting/grinding/drilling materials... and with the price of steel these days... a 4x4 pc of steel (roughly what it takes for all the parts) at the local piece price steel place (sold at 20% over scrap) is almost $400. you cant match the quality of laser cut parts either. ask yourself, what is your time worth?

Re: 47-55.1 S10 swap weld on kit

new 10/18/22, bolt on fully adjustable height mounts, from 2.25" off the frame to 5.75" off the frame. very easy install.

$605 shipped flat unwelded, no hardware. (first picture) my guess is that if you are comfortable welding the kit up you can also weld it to the frame.

$635 shipped with fully welded cab mounts, you fold and weld everything else. no hardware, because if you want to save money you probably can get bolts local.

$800 shipped fully welded, all install hardware, and includes SBC or LS engine mounts and universal trans crossmember.

the body kit is CNC LASER cut, so clean and easy to weld. (engine and trans mounts are CNC plasma)

this year shipping went up, metal went up and my kit offers these new benefits (adjustable mounts, bolt on, new lower radiator core closeout, new easier core mounting, new factory crossmember capable bed mounts) for only $60 more than the previous weld on kit.

Whats more, I will still offer $20 off the kit with your forum membership. so thats $585, $615, and $780!

oh by the way, these are IN STOCK. no 5 week/2 month/4 month waiting. IN STOCK. welded kits will add up to 7 days to lead time, but most orders ship in 24 hrs.

let me know if i can help!

Re: 47-55.1 S10 swap weld on kit

as an update, my weld on kit is now capable of being 100% bolted on. i provide a hardware list for bolts if thats how you want to do it. I designed the bolt on portions to have 3/4" of height adjustment. the cab braces provide excellent lateral strength with the "frame-lock" system that balances the cab load with equal amounts of compression and clamping force. introductory price of $445 unwelded (you can still weld it on and save money), and $499 fully welded, shipped.

mine is the only kit that will work unmodified with a 4x4 s10 chassis, except the bumper brackets, which I am working on. I offer brake pedal brackets for 95+ 2nd gen s10 brake pedals and boosters. I offer engine setback plates and mounts for SBC, LS tall oil pan, LS short oil pan, and 4.3 V6. I offer a univeral transmission crossmember kit for frames 3-7" in height, even angled frames, and any width 30"+. I have universal running board mounts for non chevy projects, and mounts designed for 41-46 chevy, 47-55 chevy on jeep chassis, and just about anything you can dream up.
