What size fan?

What size and blade count fan would a 1971 K/10 with a 350 and AC have from the factory? I've been battling an issue with mine for several years now and believe it's probably the wrong fan.

Re: What size fan?

Maybe nothing wrong with the one you got!
How tight is your present fan to the shroud?
How deep into the shroud is it?

Re: What size fan?

What's on there now? Yours was probably same as mine ('72 K20, 350, factory A/C). 18" diameter, 7-blade thermal clutch fan. With shroud of course.

Re: What size fan?

I replaced my fixed pitch 4 bladed fan. about 14 inches in diameter with one from a 76 pontiac grand prix, 7 blades, 19 inches in diameter and a new thermal clutch. my new(er) fan sits perfectly in the shroud opening with the front half of the blades inside the shroud and the back half of the blades ouside the shroud. never had an overheating problem to begin with But I sure dont now either.

Thumbs up Re: What size fan?

Proper fan size and shroud distance for a 350.

Get out and drive the truck this summer and have some fun!
It sucks not being able to hear!

LWB trucks rule, if you don't think so measure your SWB!
After talking to tech support at Air Lift I have found out that the kit I need is 60811. Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs.

Re: What size fan?

Mine is a 7 blade and I believe 18" fan, it sits all the way inside the shroud instead of halfway. It cools fine but it's scraping the shroud, I can adjust it where it has clearance but after a short while if driving its back making noise again. Never had this trouble before, body mounts are all new along with motor mounts
