Need Some Opinions?!?!?

Alright Im thinkin' about gettin a 69 swb. I havent yet because first i gotta find one and then convince my grandparents to let me drag somethin like that home. But I was thinkin' like some BIG rims. Like some 22" inch Elite "Barb" rims. I dont wanna drag frame or nothin like that. I wanna keep an aggressive stance. I dont wanna be towering over the rims or sittin on em. i was thinkin about a triangulated 4 link w/ adjustable coil overs instead of air bags. But I wanted to know if it would look presentable to box the frame on one of these trucks and if these rims would look okay for something for this kind of project. It'll be my first real ride. And i wanna do it right. Shaved drip rails, marker lights, filler neck, and so on. but with the truck theme would this look okay? And could anyone let me know how they'd lay the fenders over the tires. Thanks. Brandon. If u wanna check out the rims its www.elitealloys.com.

Yeah, I realize its not a very well liked concept but Im just now old enough to drive, and not to follow any trends or anything I just wanna have the biggest and baddest truck around. And I think big rim will help me out. I just dont like how little 15" rims tuck in the whellwell it leaves too much extra room.

i'm 41 years old and "I" agree with ya on the wheel opinion. now 22's, i'm not really into (that's my preference only), but a nice set of 20's with well proportioned tires looks sweet. about the boxing of the frame, you don't really need to go that far unless you're gonna be doing some road racing and need to pull a few negative g's which will cost ya some positve cash (hehehehe).
coilovers are great for adjustability, and you got the next best thing to a four-link unless the truck you have in mind has leaves under it then i say go for it. spend your money on a good front disc conversion, and a nice set of rear gears. imho

you asked for opinions...so here goes....

you say your just now starting to drive....and I would guess that you are probably only working part-time, and I am not trying to get into your business or anything....but the cost of 22" wheels + tires is gonna be in the $4,000-$5,000 range - maybe even more...depending on the brand name of wheel and tire used.

Thats more cash than some entire trucks are worth...

Yeah, i do also think dubs tuck nice too, but for me they just dont fill up the fenderwell enough for me. And yes I do realize that rims of that size are that much money; but its not as if Im gonna only have the truck for few years. Its gonna be a show piece. I dont intend to have any other vehicles except a ratty 4wd to play in. That's why i was thinkin' of boxing the frame and installing a triangulated four link. To clean everything up nicely. Did anyone check out the rims? What did ya think? Brandon

I think these trucks are worth more than 5 g's too, if they're done right.
