Has anyone have any experience with Element E50???

After seeing that 70 SS Chevelle go up in flames I am going to get some form of a Fire Extinguisher for my Truck...

I have never heard of The element unit. When they came around and said we had to do away with our Halon extinguishers my boss handed me one that was at the plant where I worked and said, get it out of here. I took it home and stuck it on the side of my shed that was also my shop at the time. Had an engine fire in the 64 I was using for a work truck and that extinguisher put the fire out by shooting it though the grill. We lost a real asset in car fire fighting when we lost those.

I buy the white marine extinguishers for my boat and that is what I have in my truck. I'm not sure that it is any better but it is also there if I need to take it on the boat.

I’ve never heard of them before now, but they sound like an excellent improvement over a conventional fire extinguisher.

This is the first time I've ever seen these. I do like the compact size, but not so crazy about how close you have to actually get to the fire with it ... fires get hot quick! And a more traditional type extinguisher does have the discharge pressure to give you about 10ft between you & the flame. A halatron or CO2 extinguisher is what have had in my vehicles. They are both clean agents & don't leave the mess a dry chemical type will. Yes, It's hard to find a good spot for them bit better than watching your hard work burn to the ground. As part of my job I inspect 600+ extinguishers at our facilities & do extinguisher training classes; in my experience I would not be comfortable relying on this Element stick. You could ask your local fire extinguisher serving company if they have any "old" clean agent extinguishers for sale for a cheaper $ ... just because they are "out of date" doesn't mean they won't work!

My ongoing truck projects: 48 Chev 3100 that will run a 292 Six. 71 GMC 2500 that is getting a Cad 500 transplant. 77 C 30 dualie, 454, 4 speed with a 10 foot flatbed and hoist. It does the heavy work and hauls the projects around.
