Re: Fuel Gauge not working????

I don't think it's typically a wire. The tank gets grounded through the mounting hardware and brackets clamping it to the cab. You do want to make sure that there is nice clean metal somewhere for the tank to ground to the cab.

Absolutely!

Just do the ohms check from tank to cab and from the sending unit terminal to the tank. You may have fried the variable resistor in the sender . I ordered mine from Parts Geek.com and it is amazing. There is a difference between them. The stock units for six cylinders are 5/16ths and the V-8s are 3/8ths inch diameter tubes.

Re: Fuel Gauge not working????

I have one out of a 72 C-10. If you want it I will bench test it to verify it is good. $30.00 + shipping. PS it is from a non gauge truck.

Re: Fuel Gauge not working????

Instead of a temp gauge and a amp meter it has idiot lights. The fuel gauge and speedometer look the same in a instrument cluster.
