72 C/30 longhorn to K/30 short bed stepper

This started life as a 72 C/30 longhorn which was bought only for the bucket seats and console. The rest (body wise) was rusted beyond repair but the frame was still straight and solid. I have a rust free Arizona cab and 68 fenders I purchased from a guy in Pennsylvania and have a pair of rust free C/60 doors which are pristine only needed the big mirror holes welded up and the front corners of the doors added back like the pickup truck doors which I did using 1/8” plate turned out nice. I also have a very nice 6’ step side bed which is also rust free. I was looking for a short bed 69-72 K frame to put these parts on but nothing available so I decided I would cut 18” out of the longhorn frame and shorten it to 115” wheel base then convert it to 4X4. I used all the front brackets off a 71 K/5 blazer frame. I put a 4” lift on it a Dana 60 in the front and a 14bolt in the rear with 4:10 gears from a 81 K/30 low mileage Brush truck. The wheels are 10”x16” wheels from summit with 315/75/16 Hercules terra tracs with nos K/30 hub caps. The engine is a 350 with 400 turbo and np205 I added the firemen style cab light on the roof and also the cargo light. The paint color is coastal blue single stage from summit racing. Going with a buddy bucket seat.

Well I made a little progress today. Got the cab back on the chassis and cleaned up the garage.

That is going to be a beautiful truck. The coastal blue looks very close to factory medium blue from the pics. Nice job taking several trucks and turning them into 1, should be able to handle some abuse!
