C10 Shindig — Independence Mo

I was wondering if anyone has been to or had plans to attend the c10 Shindig on July 17 in Independence Mo. It’s only a few hours drive from me and I’m thinking of making the trip?

Re: C10 Shindig — Independence Mo

I have been considering going but i dout if I will make it. I'm getting too old to be out in that heat. It sounds like it should be a great event.

Being that close you should have some buddies bring 5 or 6 of those nice trucks there.

How large is your property? You could have left yourself wide open for a convoy of motor homes or a sea of tents. Be careful with your address eh! Stay safe.

Re: C10 Shindig — Independence Mo

Is it my web-blindness or does the Shindig web sites lack most of the important information?

https://www.facebook.com/C10Shindig/

AND,

http://c10shindig.com/

I can't find out what time it starts/closes, if it costs anything to bring/enter your truck or is it free to just come and roam around. Are there awards?

I'd love to come, but I can't bring myself to preregister not knowing what the whole deal is.

I agree the website is pretty vague. I did register online and received a email back from them saying that credentials will be mailed out 2-3 weeks before the event. I did book a refundable room just in case.

I’ll be there. It’s across town for me. I think I saw somewhere that it starts at 9am but I can’t seem to find it anywhere.

Re: C10 Shindig — Independence Mo

well it looks like I'll be on the farm about 25 miles from there (wherever there is exactly) so I'll try to make it if some more details are available..

I don't have facebook and the website http://c10shindig.com/ is a little vague.. that contact address looks like a residential neighborhood?

not sure if I'm registering just to park outside and go look or park inside or what?

more importantly - beer sales or byob??

I could drive the ochre longhorn if they don't mind oil and rust mixed with gravel dust.. I'm sure I'd win the 'left the biggest mess' award

childhood buddy of mine said he might go if his schedule holds, for now he's off that weekend..

he drives a little truck around there

Re: C10 Shindig — Independence Mo

I WAS supposed to be at a church somewhere in Blue Springs, but it got too big and they moved it to the Cable Damher Arena in Independence (in the parking lot). I talked to "a guy" at a Blue Springs car cruise who is a part in organizing it and he said it has really drawn a lot of attention. It will be free this year, but not next year.

This show is sponsored by https://cktruckmag.com/ and https://www.classicparts.com/default...SAAEgJizfD_BwE

I think it will be a big turnout of nice trucks.

I asked on the C10 Shindig Facebook page for more info.
This is the answer I got:

This show grew in the last 6 months much more than we anticipated, and it caught us on our heals a bit. We will let trucks in at 8am. Show ends at 5. No awards, just 400+ trucks getting together with some vendors. We will see how it grows next year. We will lhave some media there, including CK Truck Magazine.
In the meantime, we will have the site update soon!

Re: C10 Shindig — Independence Mo

A little more info from the C10 Shindig Facebook page,...

Here’s a few particulars about the show:
8-5 rain or shine
Food vendors will be there
We welcome all the C10 sizes (20,30, etc) and of course all K5 Bkazers and Suburbans. GM full size trucks 1998 and older.
It will be hot…
If u bring a pop up please secure it, we’re not responsible for flying pop ups.
We prefer no pets. There will be a lot trucks around and there isn’t much grass around. Obviously clean up after your pet and yourself
The raffle will be at four and you need to be present to win.
Please no mini bikes, skate boards, etc
Pre-registration ends June 30 at midnight
This is important: You DO NOT have to be pre-registered to enter your truck. You can simply fill out a entry form the day of the show and come on in.
Please check out all of our sponsors.
Let’s have a great time and see the largest gathering of GM trucks in the region.

Although most of you know the venue was changed some time ago, I failed to mention the new venue in the last post.
It’s at Cable Dahmer Arena located at 19100 E. Valley View Pkwy, Independence, Missouri 64055. Hotels are listed on our website c10Shindig.com
