Re: Live Every Day

Everything seems to be working. My CEA marker has gone from 87 to 21 to 10.

God Bless and I genuinely pray each and every one of us has a happy, HEALTHY 2022.

This past week I washed cars, worked on and cleaned the shop and spent way too much $$$. Decided to do a spiral staircase to loft to save a lot of time. My 2 week daily chemo dose was lowered a bit so I hope to feel better this first week out.

Re: Live Every Day

Jesse-
I just saw this thread and felt compelled to respond.

My oldest was diagnosed at 22 with an aggressive leukemia. He's had two in-patient rounds of chemo at thirty days each that got his cancer knocked down. To make sure his bone marrow didn't start to misbehave again, he had a stem cell transplant (preceded by another week of chemo to kill his existing marrow) from his brother in February.

He was declared to be in remission in June and his blood work and biopsies continue to look good. The stem cell transplant reset his immune system, so he has a 10-month-old's immunity right now. He's actually repeating newborn shots; we're looking forward to him getting kindergarten shots at 28!

All that said, let me encourage you to:

1. Continue to trust the process. Early on, our docs set a target of successful treatment, but told us the path wasn't yet clear. Each course of test-treat-test defined the next branch of the trail, and they got him there. I get paid to optimize processes and it was great to watch this in action.

2. Keep up the 'fcuk cancer' attitude. You know what there is to fight for. J finished his undergrad degree from the hospital; I'm convinced that a huge chunk of his physical healing was based in the mental and spiritual world.

3. Make sure your non-medical care team gets care of their own. Their hills and valleys may not match yours, but they're present as I'm sure you've seen.

Keep us posted on your progress. Best of luck to everyone in '22.

That's good news. Keep it up. I know that you will. And you will beat this!

I think with your attitude you already have.

Life is full of challenges and you have met this one head on. My money is on you to win.
