Re: '67-'72 Power Brake Booster Bracket With Hydraulic Clutch Conversion

Well with the regular cost for this conversion in bare steel of $207.50 minus $50.00 for the clutch master cylinder would come to $157.50 plus shipping of $16.35. I will send you a PM with payment info.

Re: '67-'72 Power Brake Booster Bracket With Hydraulic Clutch Conversion

From reading this, I gather that my 67-70 3/4T booster will bolt up, minus the current brackets/linkage? What, if any, disadvantage is there to not using the factory brake booster linkage?

Clutch linkage looks awesome, btw!

Curious about this too…I have a stock-style brake booster…want to add hydraulic clutch later…

Re: '67-'72 Power Brake Booster Bracket With Hydraulic Clutch Conversion

Yes the '67-'70 brake boosters will bolt up to all of my booster brackets. At least all that I have seen or had my hands on have had the correct mounting stud pattern. I do not see any disadvantage to not using the bellcrank assembly that GM used for the pedal to booster linkage. I believe that was done to allow the downward angle of the booster/master assembly. In eliminating that linkage, you will simply have to trim both the booster pushrod and the pushrod from the pedal to achieve the correct length and weld them together. If welding is not an option a mechanical method will work as well.

Re: '67-'72 Power Brake Booster Bracket With Hydraulic Clutch Conversion

Please be aware that the flat base plate without the booster mounts as jlsanborn purchased is not a regularly offered part and you must specifically request that, if that is what you want.

Re: '67-'72 Power Brake Booster Bracket With Hydraulic Clutch Conversion

Here is a list of compatible brake boosters for all of my booster brackets. This list is included with every booster bracket.

'67-'70 pickups, Suburbans, Blazers
'70-'74 Impala, Caprice
'80's G body Vans (full sized)
Early Astro/Safari vans with the vacuum booster
'82-'02 S10/S15 pickups and Blazers
'88-'98 full sized pickups
'92-'98 Suburbans, Blazers

There may be some other applications, and/or years, but these are the ones I have been able to verify.

Re: '67-'72 Power Brake Booster Bracket With Hydraulic Clutch Conversion

What is the price for the kit with the plate that sanborn had made? will your kit work with the willwood master cylinder mentioned in the thread TR65 posted? I love your linkage mechanics and would much rather have something that clean, but I already have my brake setup done and already purchased that master cylinder for my t56 setup, i think that master has a 1.1 stroke?

Re: '67-'72 Power Brake Booster Bracket With Hydraulic Clutch Conversion

The total cost for one '67-'72 hydraulic clutch conversion with just the base plate and in bare steel with shipping is $191.85.

The linkage assembly is designed to work with a clutch master with a 1.4" stroke. You will have to install some sort of clutch pedal stop to keep from bottoming out the clutch master since is has a shorter stroke.

Re: '67-'72 Power Brake Booster Bracket With Hydraulic Clutch Conversion

Captain. Couple of questions.
Does this linkage move the cylinder in a 1:1 ratio compared to pedal travel. In other words, you mention in a previous post that it moves the cylinder rod 1.4" the way it is set up. Does the pedal at the point of linkage move the same 1.4" or is it travelling further?
Reason I am asking is I may buy this set up from you but mod it slightly by moving the linkage and cylinder up a little higher to reduce the pedal effort. I just need to understand that stroke ratio.
Thanks for your help. Jeff.

Re: '67-'72 Power Brake Booster Bracket With Hydraulic Clutch Conversion

The linkage assembly allows full travel of the clutch pedal while only moving the clutch master cylinder's piston 1.40". The location on the clutch pedal arm where the linkage is attached, moves more than 1.40" Hence the need for the linkage assembly. Raising the clutch master cylinder up will severely limit the size of vacuum, booster that will work.

Re: '67-'72 Power Brake Booster Bracket With Hydraulic Clutch Conversion

This might be a dumb question, but I don't understand why people need a booster bracket.? Don't we all have booster brackets if we already have power brakes.?

I think for me I just need the bracket that holds the clutch master cylinder, like jlsanborn bought.

Re: '67-'72 Power Brake Booster Bracket With Hydraulic Clutch Conversion

Well for one, not all of the '67-'72 trucks came with power brakes. Secondly, not everyone likes the factory booster assembly that hangs 5 1/2" out from the firewall (me included) and would much rather have it tucked closer to the firewall. My booster brackets mount the booster 1 3/4" from the firewall measured at center.

I can sell you a kit with no booster brackets on the plate just as I did for jlsanborn., if that's what you really want.
