Re: how many 62 k10's produced?

I have production number sheets on 60-66 truck models....I just have to find them. It only broke them down by various model and wheel base #'s.

Re: how many 62 k10's produced?

actual production numbers for chevy/gmc were not kept prior to '63. If you have a '63 or later, those numbers are readily available but '62 and earlier no date was kept so the best you can hope for is a rough guess but nothing you can hang your hat on.

Here are production numbers for 1966. You should be able to ballpark for your truck. I wouldn't think there would be a huge swing one way or another from year to year. http://www.oldride.com/library/1966_chevrolet_c20.html

Re: how many 62 k10's produced?

Here are some numbers I found. I may have been mistaken when I said they were available after 1963. The numbers are not available prior to 1965.

1965 4x4

K-10 (1/2 ton) Max GVW 5600 lbs WB 115"

Stepside 1,127
Fleetside 633

K-15 (1/2 ton) Max GVW 5600 lbs WB 127"

Stepside 513
Fleetside 1,459

total 1965 1/2 ton 4x4 = 3732

1966 4x4

K-15 (1/2 ton) Max GVW 5600 lbs WB 127"

Stepside 457
Fleetside 1,976

K-10 (1/2 ton) Max GVW 5600 lbs WB 115"

Stepside 1,123
Fleetside 678

total 1966 1/2 ton 4x4 = 4234

1965 4x2

C-10 (1/2 ton) Max GVW 5000 lbs WB 115"

Stepside 52,899
Fleetside 55,300

C-15 (1/2 ton) Max GVW 5000 lbs WB 127"

Stepside 2,743
Fleetside 15,774

total 1965 1/2 ton 4x2 = 126,716

1966 4x2

C-10 (1/2 ton) Max GVW 5000 lbs WB 115"

Stepside 59,947
Fleetside 57,386

C-15 (1/2 ton) Max GVW 5000 lbs WB 127"

Stepside 26,456
Fleetside 17,875

total 1966 1/2 ton 4x2 = 161,664

Re: how many 62 k10's produced?

1963 chevy truck production numbers:

Pickups with 6.5 foot boxes, Step-Side, Fleetside, Panel and Suburban models where available in 2 wheel or 4 wheel drive. These new models came with a new coil-spring front suspension along with the introduction of a few new 6 cylinder engines; the 230 and 292 series. Also new for 1963 was the introduction of the alternator. Calendar year production on the 1963 models totaled 483,119. An astonishing 1/3 of every truck produced during this year was a Chevrolet.

A 1963 Chevrolet Pickup can be distinguished by the grille which had a more egg-crate appearance and headlamp bezels and Chevrolet lettering was accented in black. Parking light lenses where the same as previous years, except federal regulations now required the automotive industry to change from clear to amber.
