Intermittent Wipers

I'm wanting to put intermittent wipers on my 67 GMC. I did some research and found this http://www.revolutionelectronics.com...t-wiper-module. does anyone have any experience with this?

Re: Intermittent Wipers

I have one in my Burban. I don't have a lot of miles on it yet, but it works as advertised and was easy to install. I really liked the the fact that you only have the stock wiper switch for control and it is unmodified. Its like a toyota wiper system in that you have set speeds not infinite speed control. I have some photos and notes in my WMB (Working Mans Burban) thread if your interested.

Thumbs up Re: Intermittent Wipers

I bought mine from a member here twouvakind. Great product. You do have to drill another hole though in the dash but for me it was fine. The first picture is a mock up with old dash.

LWB trucks rule, if you don't think so measure your SWB!
After talking to tech support at Air Lift I have found out that the kit I need is 60811. Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs.

Re: Intermittent Wipers

Thanks for the info guys. Since I drive mine daily this has got to be better than reaching forward all the time when it's just a heavy mist.

The one in my 71 is great. You have a lot of delay time are not which is a really big help when just a mist are heavy fog is in the air. I drive my 71 all the time and I'm telling you, you want find a better product!

Re: Intermittent Wipers

Was in your same shoes about a year ago , basicly no need to spend more then 15.00 dollars , all you need is a Potentiometer for $10. and another 2.50 for a plastic housing . got this from Q Kits electronics online . been working flawless for almost a year now.

Re: Intermittent Wipers

jrainman, could you elaborate a little more on your modification. I also daily drive mine and like the rest above, having variable speeds would be a big help. what exactly is a "Potentionmeter", how does it work, where can one be purchased, and most importantly, How to hook up/install? sorry for all the questions, but I dont even know what a Potentionmeter is. And sorry for hijacking your thread Tim67

Sorry, just saw where you posted wher one can be bought.

Re: Intermittent Wipers

I just looked up this Q Kits thing https://store.qkits.com/wind-shield-...le-mxa041.html

It's a kit form of the delay modules I used back in the 70-80"s. I have a couple of them I've scrounged up at swap meets. For 12 bucks it's a pretty good deal. You have to find a place to mount it and it's not a clean as other choices. You could remote mount the potentiometer and then just need an extra knob somewhere on the dash.

I'm not sure of jrainman's exact solution, but the general idea was what I was thinking when I read the original question. A potentiometer is a variable resistor. I'm guessing the chip on the board is reading the input from the potentiometer and signaling the on/off function of the wiper. That's how I would do it anyway.
