Low Option supers/grandes

Given that the Cheyenne super package was just a trim option and there are very low optioned supers out there. Has anyone seen a super/grande with a 250 and 3spd manual? Most supers I have seen either had the 350 or 400 on the spid. I did not seen a post dedicated solely to low optioned Cheyenne Supers or Sierra Grandes. I have seen a lot of non-ac supers but never a radio delete super. I’m looking for any true supers/grandes with extremely low options.

Interesting configuration. Trim level and power train usually are predictable, but not always. This topic goes back to how a vehicle was ordered by a customer or how the dealership themselves ordered the pickup. Most dealerships in the early 70's carried a large inventory of pickups according to what they think would have sold well in their market. Higher trim, V8, automatics, power steering and brakes were commonly ordered to appeal to the masses. But, there were customers who liked the 6 and liked the 3 speed manual and insisted on ordering there next new truck with that powertrain and wanted more comfort in a higher trim level. Fewer numbers of them. Like a 292 with an auto. A base model with ac etc.

Never seen a 6cyl., but here's the SPID from a truck I bought several years ago - short Super with 350 / 3 speed, manual steering and brakes, no A/C and radio delete.

That looks awesome. Did you happen to have any other pictures of the truck?

Re: Low Option supers/grandes

Low Option supers/grandes ... Interesting.

I would say most would be nicely optioned.

Good question.

Re: Low Option supers/grandes

I wonder why the belt molding and lower molding are on the spid as well when the super package already includes those items.

Re: Low Option supers/grandes

I had pictures of a very low option Cheyenne Super on P-bucket. Still there but I need to pay the ransom to get them back. 6cyl/3spd, manual brakes and steering IIRC. I think it only had the radio and gauges.

This configuration is the opposite of one of my favorites, a loaded Custom/10. My absolute favorite is odd combinations, but a loaded Custom/10 is just that really.

Re: Low Option supers/grandes

Might be a Janesville thing, my K20 has the lower moldings listed, which if I’m not mistaken, is included in regular Cheyenne trim. Mine is a 72 Cheyenne Janesville truck.

Re: Low Option supers/grandes

You are not mistaken.

I like See Ten's '72 Custom Deluxe/10... medium red/white top, upper/lower molding, a/c, 350/TH350, and some other options
