Anyone recognize these mirrors?

I just picked up these mirrors a few days ago from a fellow who found a bunch of 67-72 GM truck parts on the property he recently bought in Nevada. I got two sets of mirrors and just wondered if these are OEM for our trucks?

They look like the ones that came on my 71 when I bought it. The picture shows the mounts but I had already swapped mirrors.

They look similar to 1972-only DG4 mirrors except for having bolts instead of studs & acorn nuts at both ends of the curved mirror support.
However, the upper brackets look like they are from earlier (68-71) DG4 mirrors.

Thanks . I had a similar thought, especially about the bolts. But on a 1972 DG4 the small top bar of the mounting tripod would have been straight. I actually wonder if this top bar was bent over by the previous owner. I also wondered if the 1971 DG4 had a bent-over top bar. I have owned a 1972 DG4 and clearly remember the top bar was straight, but sadly I threw those mirrors out many years ago. I hope some DG4 experts chime in.

Yeah, I was referring to the small top bar when I edited the post to include 'upper brackets'. Your post beat me to my edit!

I think you have a mix of parts. Top bar is pre-72, 90* arm is likely aftermarket (hence the bolts), and lower arms are 72-only (shorter than pre-72).

The factory arms are all round. The flat upper arm, at least, is aftermarket. Also, the 69-71 DG4 upper arm is bent 'down' at the body. Yours are bent 'up' like '72s, only bent harder

I have the White version on MY truck.
They were when I bought her.
I put the Sport mirrors on for about a year, but because of the poor field of vision, and HUGE blind spots, I took them off and went back to the “White Elephant Ears”.

Good eye, Tim! I missed that his upper arms are flat. And I assumed they were pre-72 arms turned upside down. That's why you get the big bucks!

I do not mind being hijacked by you Ryan! It is a 70, but same thing essentially. I think I promised you some photos but forgot. It is getting closer. Started out with a drunk in one shop. Now in the second shop, and the fellow disassembled everything and painted every part on the frame and suspension individually with black Imron. The cab has been totally repaired and painted. I recently repaired the bed and decided to use a new bedside and bed floor and the fit was perfect with repro parts. So it is getting closer. After I lost all the originality I opted to try using an LS motor for the first time. Thanks for asking.
I previewed these photos and they were upright from where I stored them but all but the first one got posted sideways. I have no idea why. This happens to me once in a while. Wish I knew how to solve it before posting. If someone knows I sure would like to know how to rotate them after posting.

Thanks for the infor Tim. I always pay attention whenever you are talking. Of course I always have the option of ignoring you. Basically what I can see is that somewhere in these mirrors is a basis for building a DG4 mirror. Change the top piece. Save the lower V piece. Get new elbows and also a new top piece. Mirror heads are probably ok after polishing. Any other suggestions? Sell them as is?

That was no problem at all, I help when ever I can. The whole situation just blew my mind. I just couldn't stand the thoughts on how they were treating you and basically going to sell your truck out from under you. I'm very glad Barney's was willing to work with us and let us get it out of there.

I wish I knew. I let someone far more experinced than me make that decision. This guy is an excellent fabricator and he told me it was for cheaper to buy one that some else had already designed just for these trucks.

RV and sometimes dealerships added these mirrors in mass to Chevy trucks all over. Kinda generic lot but with nostalgic value.
