Re: Post your short step side pics

I bought my '71 GMC Jimmy because I liked the color and also liked that it had a 4-speed SM465. PO had it painted ''Maui Blue'' a medium metallic shade that's a GM color, but not a regular truck color. Also later vintage. Cadillac maybe? IDK. Picked it up in 1995.
Not a Stepside, but it's a pretty truck. Needs new bucket seats, bad though.

I saw these trucks when they were brand new and nothing beats it. Made up my mind in high school in 1967, that I wanted a truck like that. Didn't catch up with one til I was 23. Now I'm 70, and when people ask if I want to sell my truck, I just look at them like they're nuts.

I'll probably just "sorta paint to match" the the rest of the truck.

Re: Post your short step side pics

I believe I have posted in here before, but I believe I've gotten new wheels and changed a couple other things.

Here is my 1969 Stepside with a 5.3L LS engine swap.

Meet Ol Goldilocks, she is a 1968 original paint, interior, 4 wheel drum brakes, manual steering and manual brakes. original engine with 24,937 documented mileage stepper. Even still has the factory grease pencil marking on the firewall, frame, under bed and cab. She had two options, a spare tire and an oil bath air cleaner. I did change the spare tire out, did a static spring drop in case I want to put it back, changed the wheels to original style 15x8’s with staggered front/rear tires for that old 70’s/80’s rubber rake stance.
