1968 Yenko/SC10

My aunt Bunny told me about this funny looking truck that our neighbor’s wife had just pulled out of a barn after 47 years! Her husband, Peter, had passed away recently after being run over by a turnip truck on Hwy. 27 in North Georgia. They washed the truck and got it running. She wanted help selling it.

My wife, April, said I would be a fool to buy another truck. I already have three.

I hopped in my truck and headed out to Rabbit Valley with my
chocolate lab, Cottontail. I wasn’t sure if I needed to go East or West, but I finally found the farm near the Cadbury Basket factory. And there it was!

Ilene, the farmer’s widow had only one leg and retired from IHOP in 2014. She said that on February 31, 1968 her husband special ordered the truck new from a dealership in Canonsburg, Pennsylvania. Options included a 427 L-72 engine with a Muncie M-22 4 speed. He specified Robin's Egg Blue and White paint as used on 1957 Chevys. It has dark blue buddy bucket seats, tilt, power steering and positraction rear. It was delivered on April 1, 1968.

Really nice truck, but I knew if I bought it my wife would break my legs and I would be hippity hopping around for the rest of my life.

I almost bought one of those Yenco's at one time, but it came down to splitting HARES on the price and I just couldn't pull the extra cash out of my hat....

Man, that would suck to die by turnip truck. I am so sorry to hear that. I wonder why they waited so long to sell. I really like it. If you could give me info so I could go buy it I would appreciate it. I'm single so no issues there.

Hey wait a minute, that's not '57 Chevy Robins Egg (Lakespur) Blue. What is this, some kind of joke??

Get out and drive the truck this summer and have some fun!
It sucks not being able to hear!

LWB trucks rule, if you don't think so measure your SWB!
After talking to tech support at Air Lift I have found out that the kit I need is 60811. Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs.

I'm actually curious if that's a Photoshop or a truck someone has done up. If its a real truck does anyone have any more pics? Its done really nicely and Id like to see some more if there are any out there.

Nah, not a real truck. It is a Photoshop of a real CST truck, but all the Yenko stuff has been added. I agree, someone needs to build that truck. It would sure be one of a kind!

Some of you may remember my '70 GMC SS from last April. I got into a little trouble on that one.

Just having fun guys. I really tried to give as many clues as I could to help you realize that I was just pulling your leg. I really hope you got a laugh out of it!

Great job! I was sucked in until I got to the one legged waitress, "wait a minute who hires a one legged waitress". The problem now is I want to paint that stripe on my Burban. Then you sue me for copyright infringement and I'll have to sell my Burban to pay the bills. And down the rabbit hole I go.

You are right specialK. I should have mentioned the turnip truck was driven by Russians.

I too wondered if this April Fools joke aside, was a Yenko SC10 a real thing. Had never heard of one. I agree, this would be something really cool to build up. Hmm, got the wheels spinning thinking about my 70 C10!

These kind of mods don't usually do anything for me ... Fake Yenko, blah. But for some reason this photoshop of one is pretty cool. Maybe its the colors? I dunno, Id like to see someone roll with it. The only thing I would change up is just a bit thinner white wall.

3/8" whitewalls is right! That was the sport whitewall dimension (same as redwalls) in the Wide Oval era. I've been joking around, but I know what you mean. I really like it, too.

I let a friend who don't frequent this site much read this thread before the cat was outa the bag.
He didn't catch all the puns.
I was watching his expression as he started reading.

I saw his jaw hit the floor once he got far enough too see the pic.

He looked up at me with a baffled look and said "are you freaking kidding me what are they gonna find next, I never knew yenko did trucks too"!

I just smiled and told him too re read the story.
Then he caught the puns and figured it out.

Great thread.

Cool thread and
