New Tire Possibility

Have a chance to pick up 275/65/18 take offs for my truck. Michelin XC's for $300. Any downside as far as the size ? Truck will be stock height.

U didn’t list the size u have now but the stock size is just over 28 inches and the size u are going with is 32 in. Your speedometer will b off 8 mph at 55. If u don’t have an aftermarket Speedo that u can recalibrate , you will have to change transmission gear or try and keep up with the difference when u drive. Also, u didn’t list what transmission or rear gear u have so b prepared to lose some take off power as this height differences will make Lower rpms at normal speed.

Truck is in the 3rd year of my "project". Rear end is stock and I am sticking with the Saginaw with a slightly built 5.7 (325 HP ) I am putting in a new digital dash. Found a good sale on 18s at Jegs. They are 9.5 wide so should I go 9.5 all around or stagger with 8" on the front??

To help u figure this out quicker, cut a block of wood the difference n height from what u have to what u want. If u have a stock size on there now, then roughly 2x2. Use this on top to tell u how much taller u will b and when u turn the wheel lock to lock, use it on the top and sides to show u the space left over. Being as your truck isn’t lowered, u will have more of a gap then someone who has dropped 3/5 respectively. If u have the room all the way around, then no problem. But....if u are close or are touching, then using an 8 inch rim all the way around, might b the way to go. Thus why u use the block.this is just a simple and quick way to visualize what u will b stepping n 2. The digital gauge will compensate for the tranny gear and tire height difference.just remember if u pull something heavy and the rear gear is 3:73 now it will b more like 3:23 with those tires.
