Retrofitting AC into a '63

I recently found what appears to be the evaporator and heater core housing(s) for a '64 - '66 truck / suburban and was wondering if they would fit into my '63? There are no vents or dash parts. I know that there are no places for the vents on the '63 dash so those would likely have to be fabricated. It looks like the controls also come with the deal and Im thinking there may be a way to adapt them to my deluxe control panel? The under hood and under dash housings are what interest me though. Any info, insight or ideas here would be greatly appreciated. I already have a Sanden pump on a serpentine drive from a '97 truck so that is about the only part I have covered at this point.

The '64-'66 deluxe heater assembly should be able to basically bolt up to a '63 firewall. I have a '66 K10 that I bought a couple years ago that has a '60-'63 deluxe heater installed on it. From the outside there are no obvious modifications to the firewall.

Re: Retrofitting AC into a '63

Thanks Captain. I'm guessing that the AC part (evaporator box?) should be able to bolt up inside as well?

I would think so, but you might have to drill a couple holes in addition to cutting the extra hole in the firewall to accommodate the AC. I can't say for certain but I wouldn't rule that out

Re: Retrofitting AC into a '63

After thinking about it some more Captain, I think I may just try and use the knee freezer that I have already. It an Equip Aire 707 that I picked up out of a '63 Impala. Pretty sure it came in a Chrysler originally but I think that it may be the easier route. I think that I can used the Sanden compressor and the dryer that I have. I just have to find a condenser and all of the fittings to get it all hosed together. I keep thinking that I will have the time to fab up ductwork and vents ect, ect. But when it comes down to it, I barely have time to keep the fleet running let alone getting upgrades done.
