Re: 1969 C20, CST. 396, 21,000 mile documented Survivor

there are likely several minor differences - the main one I was highlighting above in post 443 is that the car air cleaner lid does not have the raised rib just inside the red circle below - the car lid is flat there (where the hp sticker goes).

Here's the original from my '69 C20. It appears the 350s used the same air cleaner.

Thanks for posting Jim! It appears the lid on the truck now is correct, just the base is wrong. Hopefully the correct one is on the way soon. Dave

I have been looking for factory info on this CST package as to which wheel/tire/dog dish package would be correct. It currently has 33's and what appears to be some sort of Turbine aluminum wheel. The tires are rubbing making the truck unenjoyable to drive. I also am looking for the jack and tools including the bag since this truck for some reason is missing. Any C20 CST owners out there? Thanks! Dave in Virginia
My 1968 C20 CST with 396 and all of the same stuff you've got came with the 16.5" with dog dish hub caps. Got it from my father in law who owned in since June 1970. He had the steel painted black, but I think they were white originally.

Just had it re touched. New master cylinder, carb, distributor, valve cover gaskets, modern ac to replace the old system, alternator, water pump, radiator and a nice steam clean and paint. Was rebuilt about 15k ago which is like 20 years. Paint and body and fuel tank at the end of the year.

Very nice JN, So I got to the exhaust system today. Everything went together perfectly. Something I'm never use to experiencing.

I didn't post it after I received it but the air cleaner I mentioned I had found and thought was correct was to small when placed on the carb. So back to the drawing board I guess. Anyone?

The eBay air cleaner is for a vehicle equipped with a heat stove. I don't believe yours is.

Re: 1969 C20, CST. 396, 21,000 mile documented Survivor

So the owner brought me back the truck today to possibly find out why it simply just died on my lift a few weeks ago. It has been starting ever since. So while it was idling in front of my shop door the lower radiator hose started to drip at the water pump. Ok, I guess it's time to replace it. It is not the original but who knows how long it has been installed. Tightening the clamp did not work, the hose is deteriorated at the end where it slips over the water pump. Another issue that sprung up after last visit is the fuel gage reading almost full but its only half. So my question is, do the bucket seats have to be removed to get to the sender? As I stated in my thread here the tank was replaced approx 2 years ago and I don't know if they replaced the sender. I know there are several "China" senders on the market and my experience along with everyone else's has been the same, they are garbage. Dave
