Fleetside Tailgate chains and accessories product review

Hello
Since I had a good response from doing a product review on 1964 to 1966 aluminum grill. I will review one of my latest pieces bought for my 1965 Chevy c10 fleetside I bought new tailgate chains, tailgate latch pivot bolt, and fleetside tailgate chain covers. Well first impressions of the tailgate chains. I have the original tailgate chains On my truck and compared the metal bracket to the original one and it lined up perfectly. The chains have good weight and the hook as exactly same as original. I never had any problems with counterpart automotive parts. They are made in Taiwan and they are cadmium plated like originals. There are different companies that make these chains at various prices that are cadmium plated. I did see stainless steel chains that were sold by another company but they are around 80 dollars and I didn’t think it was worth the money.

The tailgate latch pivot bolt for fleetside. My first impressions the bolt looks good and has good weight to it. This is also a counterpart automotive part. I compared it to my original bolt on my truck and it is and exact match and it is also cadmium plated too.

The last product I bought is Fleetside Tailgate chain covers OEM color Gray pair they are made from Fiver star products and have a lifetime warranty. I have to say they look good and the quality of the rubber looks strong and sturdy. They are not flimsy pieces at all. I noticed they also have different types of covers for sale I have seen a black color version and a clear version of this. Product

I almost forgot. In my opinion these are appear to be good quality and if you want to spend more money I suppose you can get the stainless steel tailgate chains. Overall, I’m happy with my purchases stay tuned for more reviews!

Thanks for the review. It would be nice if we had a sub forum that was just for reviews of products...

Hi
I bought these parts off of eBay. The tailgate chains vary in price. These are not the most expensive but had very good luck with counterpart automotive parts.

We do have a review section, but there hasn't been much traffic on it. Last post was by me almost a year ago.

I think I knew that...but it would be nice to have them specific to each forum of truck...60-66, 67-72 etc. Maybe they wouldn't get much traffic...but anyway back to your regularly scheduled review...sorry for the interuption.

I had/have a stainless set that came off of my GMC, they are nice pieces. I plan on cleaning them up and reusing them since they got messed up in a fire.
