LS1 wiring did it. I thought that was right but wanted to check before I said anything.

Great job Andy. Now that truck will be even that much harder to keep up with on the '14 tour. Looking forward to meeting up with you all in June to make that trip to the Dells. Have you been in touch with Big Dave and the group from last year? I have not been on bangshift. Was a rough summer health wise for me but I'm back.

Yes I have. Dave and I plan to room together for 2014. I'm planning on running the drag strip at Charlotte I hope and not break anything! Can't wait to see everyone again. Should be a good time for sure.Hope everything is well with you and the family.
Talked to Bruce this morning. Looks like it's going to be done on time and should have it ready for our jan 25th local meeting at Twin Peaks in Greenville SC.

Re: 2003 LSx swap thread...here we go

Went by Hawks today and dropped off the parts they needed. The motor is in and they are doing final prep work. Had to redo the cooling though the motor fan is gone and they put dual electric fans instead. The other way wasn't going to allow enough room for the air intake hose and mass senor.
They built the headers for it and tweeked the fram a little on the passenger side. They did a great job on the frame because I couldn't even tell where they tweeked it at. Had to cut 1 1/2" off the drive shaft and put new yoke on it. The computer is back inside the glove box like before so I'm happy about that not being out on the front fender well. They have the AC compressor mount but are waiting on a serpinten pully for the compressor.
Thats it except for hooking all the connectors up. They drilled the water pump for the steam line. They said hope to have it running by Friday, keeping my fingers crossed!

Re: 2003 LSx swap thread...here we go

Went by and checked on the truck. Still waiting on AC compressor. Hope it's done by next Friday now. The upper AC bracket is by LS1.

The reason for the clamps is so I can take it and have custome pipes done. I found a place today who will do mega flow mufflers with a x pipe and flanges so I can take it a part if I have to out the door for $430.00 he said. He wrote it on his card.

I may end up mounting the coils here.

Look at the size of that flange!

This is the part of the frame they tweeked.

Trans lines to radiator.

Did a plug & wire tune up on my 08 Tahoe this past weekend and the back side plug on the passenger side was a pain in the ass. I had to remove the front tire and cut part of the plastic out of the wheel well to get that sucker out. Had a 10" extension with sweval joint on it to reach up to the plug.

The 71 will be much easier to do with this kind of room.

Well another week. The AC compressor was on back order! They said it should be here this Tuesday. 1-22-14 so hope by Friday it's running. They did crank it up and it ran very shortly but it ran! Ya!
I hope I can drive it to the SC meet Saturday in Greenville then the shack down ride to Myrtle Beach SC in March for the Run to the Sun show.

You don't need no stinkin AC... I guess the compressor in the pictures is bad?
So they built custom headers for you that's cool, Looking good Andy.

The AC compressor is fine it just needed a serpentine clutch. They ordered a new one though because it was not much more than the clutch was. But it's on back order. Suppose to be here tomorrow.Oh and yes I do need AC!

It's been a long day. Just got home about 1 hr ago! But I drove the truck HOME!!!!! Yeeeeeha!

I have to take it back but from what I drove it it seems to be good. I think they will need to rebalance the drive shaft though. It has a noticable viberation around 50MPH.
I also have to get the AC finished up and Dino it after I get the new 2.5" eshaust done. But it seems to be running good. They had to swap water pumps out and that threw them behind but they stayed until they got it done for now. It took awhile to get all the air out of the system.
I'll post some pictures tomorrow in the light.

As far as HP it's all stock for now. I say this though! I like how it responds to the pedal! It has a good smooth response. I was driving it easy to listen for noises so I didn't get on it + it was all in town driving for the most part. Tomorrow it will be going up I-85 to the local board meet so I should get a better idea of how it runs. + I hooked the scan gauge up when I got home!
-T- looking forward to meeting you and seeing the trucks.

Well I drove the truck over to Greenville today for our little local meet. Ended up with about 12 trucks. That's pretty good turnout for being so cold.

The truck ran fine with no problems. Have a few things to have fixed when I take it back for the final tune but over all it's nice having some power under the hood for a change!

Question Re: 2003 LSx swap thread...here we go

I was just looking over the motor and noticed this. The vacum port isn't connected to anything. Where should it go are should I just cap it off. Seems like it would suck dirt in it when th motor is running.

It's the fresh air intake for the PCV system. In the pic you posted below, you can see the hose that used to be there from the valve cover to the throttle body.

I guess in them trying to get it ready for me Friday he forgot. I should have some vacum hose. I'll go out and put it on.
The trottle body was capped off. I'm just going to cap it for now. I'm making notes for the things they have to do to it.

Some more pictures I just took of it.
Would a shroud on the fans help keep it coolier you think? They cut my orignal shroud up to see if the motor fan would work so I have it to cover them with.

Re: 2003 LSx swap thread...here we go

Very nice Andy4639. Enjoy it. Everyone feels that they need 9000 HP and 9000 ft. Lbs, but those 5.3 are more than capable. Smooth ride, A/C, and a drive train that you'll enjoy on the hot rod power tour. You get my thumbs up.

Thanks, yea if I was going to use it on the strip maybe but for a nice driver it has more than enough power as is. I like the fact that is smooth and rides great.

Get out and drive the truck this summer and have some fun!
It sucks not being able to hear!

LWB trucks rule, if you don't think so measure your SWB!
After talking to tech support at Air Lift I have found out that the kit I need is 60811. Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs.
