Yeah right now it has a 16" electric fan which does an awesome job keeping it consistently at 185 degrees, but I guess I should put a shroud around that too. And she does have the one-barrel Holley. I plan using a slingshot intake manifold that is used on f*rd faltheads and putting it onto a later V-6 mainfold from a 2-barrel engine and then putting two strombergs on it. I just have to do some measuring for the clearance.

Anybody know where I can get a hold of a two barrel intake?

Unfortunately, I did not do the exterior resto.

I got this truck in a trade from a '68 Buick LeSabre convertable I used to have.

The outside and the bench seat were already restored. I did however do all of the dash, carpet and weatherstrip restoration inside. Next is underneath and the drive-train since most of it hasn't been touched since 1960.

Re: New to the board with '60 GMC

Of course I am an MK! There is only two rates and if I wasn't an MK I'd be a passenger! HA!

I am transferring to the CGC Fir in about 2 weeks. There is 2 210's, an ANT Team and an Air Station in Astoria too. Are you in the CG?

No my son is though. He is an MK out of San Diego, the small boat station by the airport. He's been home a year, spent 13 months in the NAG on the Baranof. One year left as of today!

nice truck bro. The color combo of the exterior, plus the white seat with contrast stich is EXACTLY what I had in mind for my 99 silverado.

They want him to become a coxswain, but he does not to lose his bonuses or ability to be on a boarding team.

Re: New to the board with '60 GMC

justcuz,

He shouldn't lose his bonus if he becomes a coxswain. It is just another qualification and he can stay MK. You can be a coxswain in any rate if you really want to and you have the opportunity. But, it will probably affect his being on the boarding team as he would be the one driving and dropping the boarding team off....

Re: New to the board with '60 GMC

Welcome to the group. I like your truck. Wide whites would be cool. There is a BIG cruise and car show north of you in Long Beach Wa. in late Sept. You should come check it out. And bring your truck too. I was a Coastie too. I struck MK then DC. I was stationed at MSO Portland in Boat Ops then ANT Bluebell. Loved that ANT Team, Best job in the world.

chevytrucknut:

I'll definitely be there if there is one nearby....Let me know the details please.

That's funny you were at ANT Bluebell, because the Bluebell was my first unit when I was a non-rate!.....It's a small Guard after all.............

Yeah, I am all over that site. I'm trying to locate a 2-barrel intake at this point. Haven't been actively searching though...Maybe some 351 heads too!

Was that chrome bumper and grill an option for '62, or did someone have it done later?

At the Brothers Truck show in Anahiem last weekend, there were several V6 GMC's. Every one I saw had an alternator. Only one had a Holley.
