Blazer dash question

Going through my parts and found I have an air dash but there is no speaker "grill" in the middle of the top, just the holes for the plastic vents ... Is that how Blazers came?

Re: Blazer dash question

Essentially all K5s with double wall tops used that arrangement with the speaker dangling below the dash. A few single wall equipped Flint assembled examples are known when the plant transitioned from double to single wall tops during the 72 MY. Otherwise, single wall K5s had the same speaker arrangement seen with pickups.

Re: Blazer dash question

Thanks for the info. I have seen the speakers for the Blazers for sale that go under the dash, never knew why.

I cant think of a reason on why they did this. The only Blazer/Jimmy I have experience with is the very early square body Jimmy. My dad had one as a demo unit when he sold GMC's

Re: Blazer dash question

I believe its orange (funny, I wasn't really paying attention). Im not sure what kind of overall shape its in. I was looking for something else and it caught my eye because it looked off ... No speaker grill.

I believe its the last air dash I have. I let all my others go, probably just hang on to it for now.
