custom backhalf C4 IRS and Front suspension

Here we go again. This chassis is going to get a backhalf that will hold a corvette C4 irs with a custom cantilever setup. For the front Porterbuit is making us a dropmember that will convert the front suspension to C4 also. This truck is going to run 20/22 bonspeeds and shockwaves on all 4 sides.

I am jealous. Seeing that really makes it hard for me to keep working on installing my 4 link/ notch setup. Please keep us posted on the progress.

Sweet man...... here are some images of my 61 BelAir chassis wih C-4 front and rear. The Chassis was engineered and built by Progressive Automotive up in Baltimore OH. Those guys do super nice work...I even think they do one for the early chev trucks too with C-4 front and rear. I know he also does one for the 88-98 C-1500's

Re: custom backhalf C4 IRS and Front suspension

NIGHTMARE!!!

The person who worked on this truck the last time didn't have a clue on what he was doing. He also didn't know how to weld for S**T. I spent two hours cutting out a 1/4" plate that he welded in when they shortened the truck the first time. This truck use to be a LB. Here are some pictures of the junk I had to deal with. I just took a torch and went to town. It's still not finished. I also had to fix a crack in the IRS third member housing.

Enjoy
Jr

Re: custom backhalf C4 IRS and Front suspension

what the heck was he welding with.... 12V bubble gum machine? thats nasty man. I think my very first time with a bobcat / ARC on concrete sleeved oil field pipe looked better than that.

Yup it is always fun! I did a C-notch for a guy this weekend only to find out it had been Notched before and then "fixed" as well. Gotta love some people's skills
