Re: Anyone ever see a stepbumper like this ?

Hopefully going tomorrow to fab up the hitch and retain the bumper as is. Tom the shop owner is going to do it so it'll be top notch . I'm hopefully going to tow the 68 Golden to the Carlisle truck nationals next week with it. I think it will be better hauler than the 85 k20 with 3.23 gears and 700r4 .

Re: Anyone ever see a stepbumper like this ?

Have one very similar to that sitting at my place that belongs to my BIL (old wagon ). Came from a 68 GMC that belonged to his G'Dad. Not sure what he has planned for it. It is one heavy CHUNK of bumper, LOL.

Re: Anyone ever see a stepbumper like this ?

I’ve seen one like that, a guy had a custom camper with a chinook in bed camper and the step on the bumper was about 18” deep, he had it on a slider like you posted. I wish I was able to snap a pic when I saw it. I now compare bumpers to it

Re: Anyone ever see a stepbumper like this ?

Hitch is functional just needs a few tweaks. Like the eyelets for the safety chains for now I’m using the holes already in the bumper. Was 8pm when we got it done. Great having a good friend and truck guy that owns a welding fabrication shop. Retained the slide on the bumper too. It’s all 1/4 inch square and plate steel

Nice hitch! I've had a few trucks I've parted that had bumpers like these. Only one of the trucks still had the bumper and of course it was trashed. All 3 trucks had tubes welded to the bottoms of the frames.

The hitch is welded to the bumper frame which is bolted to the truck frame so if I take it all out the frame of the truck is untouched
