1980 suburban A/C question

I have a 1980 c20 suburban with the 454. I got the stock a/c working (including the rear a/c), but the compressor doesn’t sound very healthy. I would like to replace it before it fails. Does anyone know if there is a way to convert to a newer style compressor? Maybe a sanden? Is there a way to do this using the original lines and brackets? Thanks in advance for any help.

Re: 1980 suburban A/C question

You probably can but you’ll have to figure out if the new choice compressor is the right size for the system. Since you have rear a/c, I know the condenser is bigger but I don’t know if the compressor is. May want to look into that.
