Re: kick down on a turbo 400??

Kick down was a switch on the carburetor linkage. When they went to cable throttle, it got moved under the dash

Do you have a pic of the carb linkage on the drivers side?

Re: kick down on a turbo 400??

My 68 Impala had a TH400 setup similar to the one circled in red in FirstOwner69's post in the thread linked by geezer#99. Mine was a 327 with a Q-jet.

The wires came in from the back near the firewall. Don't remember exactly, been too long.

there is nothing there except for the threaded rod that hinges on the firewall. But I can try to get a picture of that if you need?

Re: kick down on a turbo 400??

There are some differences in the linkage on the carb that determine whether the carb is originally for a turbo 400 or not.
A pic would help.

Re: kick down on a turbo 400??

All looks normal for a t-400.
I wanted to see if the turbo 350 linkage was hacked off and it seems to be.
Info in here in section ‘choosing a carb’.
