I agree, prices seem to be coming down a bit…

I wanted a C30 crew cab and couldn't find a decent one for under 10-12K last year, now one can be had for 5-8K+/-.

All depends upon where you look, still plenty of running and driving 4-6K squares out there.

I agree. Look at all the people who just went on hot rod power tour. And gas is over $5!

I still daily drive a square as I always have, but I’ve never paid more than $11k for one. Almost all of mine I’ve bought for less than $5k. These guys buying the high end restorations or originals for $20k+, I highly doubt they bought them to be a daily driver.

Re: What TF happened to square prices in the US?

With the price of new trucks an older truck looks better all the time for work. My thoughts are buying a nice restored 10 footer for 20k is sure a lot more manageable than a new 65k truck that gets what 6 mpg more .

yeah good points of the gas not being much of a concern because it's not a daily.

Where are you finding the nice CrewCabs for $5-8K? I'm looking for one.

Agreed. $5-8k?? Where are these CC's & what shape are they in?

I was considering listing my CC dually & replacing it w/a single cab 1/2 ton but even those are usually 5-8k for fair/decent trucks.

Building a small, high rpm engine with the perfect bore, stroke and rod ratio is very impressive.

Generally searching though FB Marketplace all over the country. What kind of shape? Work trucks, or decent project trucks. I don't keep tabs on the restored/built stuff.

Here's a whole slew of 'em on FB...

And that would be why I don't see them. I don't do FB.

That's where most people go to post their vehicles now-a-days. Marketplace is like CL was 10-15yrs ago.

Pretty much the only reason why I still have FB!

Yeah. I don't get just listing things there vs. both....

Re: What TF happened to square prices in the US?

I despise FB and dropped it years ago because it's a divisive cesspool. Furthermore META can go **** itself. It's unfortunate that it's now the preferred platform for selling things. I miss out on so much Square Body related stuff because of it and I flat refuse to rejoin, ever.

But I digress, back to the original topic. I bought my once repainted square For a shade under 10k and have less than a grand in rehabbing it so far minus the hours of elbow grease. Following the listings and sales I've seen some in much rougher shape go for 16k+ and can't help but wonder what she'd bring....

Having been recently terminated by mega-corp I hem and haw over finish or sell, but am more inclined to sell the '02 w/295k on the clock than my square.

Prices are softening up….don’t be fooled by asking prices, selling is what counts.

Agreed. Not sure if it’s gas prices or what, but I’m seeing prices come down a little over in my area too. I also don’t do Facebook, so I still rely on whatever pops up on Craigslist.

Totally agree with these replies. In the last three weeks I have bought 3 short beds, and Im extremely happy with what I paid for em. And I have really noticed that the prices have def dropped for the LS swapped trucks, for a while they were low 20's, now Im seeing high teens.
