Gas Prices?

Have seen this on a few other sites I am on and am just asking as a curiosity from state to state what everyone is paying per gallon. Locally for 87 octane late December '20 our per gallon price was $1.99. Since the first of the year it has now risen to $2.59 for 87 octane. Just a bit curious what other members here pay. I'm sure there are some higher and a few lower, always works that way.

PLEASE: Do not turn this into a politically charged thread. It will get shut down in a hurry and that is NOT my desire or intention. Just would like to know what others have to pay out of their pocket to enjoy driving real American Classic iron. My '71 4x4 truck on a good day gets maybe 11.5 to 12.0 gpm, my '71 Chevelle maybe 15.5-16 gpm and my '57 with the 283 and 2x4s, not very much at all, LOL. But I do enjoy driving them all. Guess for the most part rather than miles per gallon when driving any of the three it is more in the case of SMILES per gallon.

Re: Gas Prices?

I have already forgotten what the price was at the end of last year. We have seen at least four increases this year. Bulk plant is the cheapest at $3.829 for 87 octane.

Re: Gas Prices?

Regular E-10 87 octane here is 2.79/gal but I run ethanol free premium in my '74 and that hit $3.49/gal
I think my '74 gets 12-14mpg, its been a while since I checked. On the plus side it holds 40 gallons so it goes a while between fill ups- the down side is it holds 40 gallons...

Re: Gas Prices?

It's gone up but the drastic increase was when the refineries in the south shut down . Petroleum is distilled like alcohol and it Dont work to well in below freezing temps. Cheapest around here is 2.399 was 2.19 last December. Crude oil dropped in 2020 from 2019 levels buy 20 % from 56 to 39 a barrel . It's now up to 55 again . The demand dropped drastically last year so producers cut back .

Our local average is $2.35 for 87 grade this week.
As far as power outages go can you imagine an oil refinery without a backup power source?

In my state we use solar & wind for back up power sources. A refinery using fossil fuel generators................. Back on track now, $3.55 and climbing for 87.

Thumbs up Re: Gas Prices?

Gas here in Garden City SC jumped .08 cents night before last. It's up to $2.59 now.

I know why, just don't know why!
I don't let it stop me from going because of it but it sure pisses me off. I have to travel between the 2 houses which is a 5hr ride each way so I burn a lot of fuel.

I have a trailer loaded with a cart to carry home tomorrow and then drive the Ramp truck back in a week for the car show. Oh how fun it will be.

Get out and drive the truck this summer and have some fun!
It sucks not being able to hear!

LWB trucks rule, if you don't think so measure your SWB!
After talking to tech support at Air Lift I have found out that the kit I need is 60811. Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs.

Totally agree on all counts. Really hope no one brings such posted thoughts into this thread tho. Will cause it to be closed in a hurry and really don't want that. Just would like to see what every one else deals with in order to go from point A to point B.

Re: Gas Prices?

When I started driving from Milledgeville to Warner Robins every week day for my internship (almost 100 miles a day), gas was around 2.12 per. It's now 2.40 per. Not driving the truck though, that would destroy my wallet

Re: Gas Prices?

1.85 here for 86 in mid January... 2.60 at sams club yesterday. Premium in the Camaro was about 2.20 or so in mid January. I saw it was 2.80 at sams yesterday. Most of the other stations have premium well over $3.00.

Re: Gas Prices?

I don't remember what it was at the end of the year, I think around $2.10 but it's now $2.75. I filled up the truck with REC90 last weekend for $3.39 and it was $54.00 but it had about a quarter tank already, so not terrible, but I liked $2.10 a lot better. I think the REC90 was around $3.19 a month ago. For those that aren't aware, REC90 is ethanol free.

Re: Gas Prices?

We were 3.49 just a couple of weeks ago. Went MX riding last weekend and it was 3.89. Over 4 for the stuff that the bikes run and what I run in the Brick when Im towing.

Im in the middle of repowering my daily driver, an older Forester XT and you guessed it, being a turbo runs premium.

If gas keeps trending like this, its gonna be a break even to keep DD ing the Brick every day. I might even save money !

Re: Gas Prices?

Regular was $2.19 here before you know what (who) and now it's $2.59 I think

Diesel was I think $2.89 when I filled up my daughter's "new" truck on Saturday. Half a tank was almost $60.
