Re: Gas Prices?

Still holding tight at $5.49 for regular here. It hasn't gone up or down for a couple of weeks now.

Don't feel guilty Boog. I remember when $2.87 was considered a high price. I wish that I could get it for that but that aint happening around here. If I held my breath waiting for that I'd suffocate.

But it's everything. A restaurant here took steaks off the menu because they were too expensive. They couldn't sell them at a profit. The little market by me stopped selling mayonnaise. The owner told me at his cost by the time he added any profit it would be $11 for a jar of mayo and nobody will pay that so he just stopped selling it.

Re: Gas Prices?

I need to get gas today. I'll report back. But I noticed it going down still. The odd thing I first noticed is the places along my current route all had the exact same price and there was the one place that was cheaper. It hit $3.59 there first. But the others dropped to $3.55 and I think lower now, and ever since that cheaper place has been higher than the rest

EDIT: I paid $3.35.9 for regular

Re: Gas Prices?

Last few weeks has been bouncing up and down, currently here in town it is $3.41 per for 87 octane corn squeezins'. A bit lower in Wichita.

NOTE: Just over a 1,000 replies, thread is a year and a half long and still going. Well done.

I filled up the wife's truck today at $2.87. Went up town cruzing through a couple car lots and came back by where we filled up at 15 minutes earlier and it was now $2.84. Dammit Jim!

I was at a redlight a few weeks ago.
I look over at the Circle K.
The price was $3.15.
At the time this was $0.10 cheaper than where I normally get it.

I pull up to the pump and get out.
$3.25

What????

The sign flashes back and forth.
The Credit Price if you sign up for their credit card and rewards and car wash
and then their high price for the non-regular customers.

Man I can't believe it but I was sitting at a stoplight there's an ARCO station on the left and a Chevron station on the right! The ARCO was $5.03/gallon and the Chevron was $5.59/gallon!!! Why is there such a difference between them? Unfortunately for me I only use Chevron, because every time I've used a different brand my vehicles run like crap!!!

For what ever reason we're going the WRONG WAY. Gas went back up from $3.31 to $3.49. What's up with that, ?

Re: Gas Prices?

I don't know why some prices go up and down in some areas. Unless it's a change local officials made. For a spell back when prices were the worst our governor waived the state fuel tax, which brought the price way down. Then prices started dropping and we started paying the tax again. So the price actually went up for a while.

One station higher than others I guess some go for all they can per gallon thinking it equals having more customers at less profit per sale. Must be a gambler setting the price.

The large difference in areas, within the same region is due to local taxes, cost of real estate (off an interstate exit vs a country crossroad), and distance from depot. I left greed out because that's a given

Re: Gas Prices?

I haven't gassed up in about a week, but it doesn't seem to be doing much here in Phoenix. Still around $4.20 for premium. I think 87 is around $3.89? I dunno. It was still expensive. haha.

There's your reason- the bolded part.

The Chevron closest to me is $5.599 for regular today, $5.999 for supreme. It might be worth my time for a 7 mile round trip to CostCo tomorrow morning.

I used to only use Union 76. It was crazy but my cars ran better on it.

All I have is Chevron and some weird no name place here. I'm not sure of the price now because I haven't left the house in 2 days. Maybe 3

I love being retired.

Re: Gas Prices?

I use whatever brand is available and if there are choices I go where it's cheapest. I have never noticed any difference in how my vehicles run no matter where I buy fuel. I run regular. Maybe the premiums have noticeable differences.
