In 1989 I paid $2,650 for my 69 Custom 10 at a "We-tote-the-note" lot in Fort Worth, which was probably near the high end of the price range back then. Three years later, after I had spent $600 on a paint job, I turned down a couple offers in the $5K to $7.5K range, as I recall. So even then I was thinking, "Could this thing actually be an investment?"

67-72 price increases are what caused square bodies to get popular. They weren't worth much at all 20 years ago. Next up might be the body style introduced in 1988.

1969 C10 (not the current one) that I bought in the early 1980s. Paid $1200; sold for $1500 a few years later. Just a hint at the appreciation that was coming.

I can say that is happening now. I believe the days of losing value to the point of being just an older truck not new enough or old enough to be worth a lot of money has come to pass

My truck had a National Chevy/GMC Truck Association sticker on the driver’s side wing vent when I bought it 22 years ago.

Yes. Still have the pin too! Drove my '64 C 10 stepside there from CA, made the trip with no issues. Great time, thanks for putting these shows together Seth!
