There are still a few of us left. I'm a California transplant (born & raised in Oregon) and I do those things too. Well, I sometimes fudge on the speed limit but only by 5 mph.

I actually drive a few mph over the speed limit on purpose in my obviously modified vehicles. I feel like I look more suspicious and get unwanted attention if I go exactly the speed limit, haha.

Many, if not most, auto manufacturers fudge the indicated speed a bit to hedge against lawsuits. That is, if your indicated speed is 55, your actual speed is more like 52.

This can make you look even more suspicious!

You know ? I do not think that Grumpy old man is as Grumpy as his forum name describes him as such.. I too try and drive like Grumpy and Stocker does.. sometimes I am forced to speed up with the traffic for a bit ,,but soon as I can I bring it all back down to what is safe for what I think it should be.

Re: Share your little know fact ..Here is mine

Driving a red late-model Camaro is much like carrying a gun. You have to be on your best behavior at all times. It's a good thing that it fits my personality, because I do both except in the winter. Once it gets cold, the Camaro goes into hiding until spring.
I don't drive it to work nearly as often as I used to though. It's almost 3 times the distance as before. The '20 Colorado has as many miles in 19 months as the '14 Camaro does in 7 years.
I only ever go a few mph over the limit (3-5) and use my cruise control a lot. It's on for any highway driving and since there are a few roads around here with stupidly low speed limits, I use it there to keep from speeding.

Good point. Maybe I should speed up, haha. Going less than the speed limit is probably the most suspicious. I recently upsized wheels from 17 to 18 inches but kept the same width and aspect ratio on the tires, netting a 1-in gain overall. My speedometer now reads exactly the same number when I drive by signs that show your speed.

Seemingly contrary to my previous post, I use my cruise control most often on local roads with low speed limits where traffic tends to go 10 over. I know that if I follow suit, one day I'll get selected for a fine, and it would only save me about 7.32 seconds to speed along that route.

Poisonous or not. Black Widow's and rattlesnakes have a death sentence if I see them. I like King snakes. Python's and Boa's and I have a pet Tarantula. So, I'm not anti spider or snake. But those two along with Brown Recluse spiders are dead meat. They are nasty and I don't like them. They may not kill you but they will mess you up. My friend ended up in the hospital when he got bit by a Brown Recluse. No thanks. My BBQ flamethrower will take care of the spiders and my 12 gauge will finish off a rattlesnake.

Less than 2% of the worlds population has naturally red hair.

Not a lot of gingers running around out there.

My family is Scottish and both my brothers had red hair. For some reason I got blonde hair (maybe because I'm dumb) But now they are totally gray and I'm not. I've got some gray hair. Not much. And I'm not young by a long shot. They're snow white and have been for years. It's weird. It must have been me getting stoned all the time when I was young. Less anxiety equals no gray hair.Maybe? But you would think my ex wives would have made up for that. Go figure?

My mom is (now gray), so was my grandfather and one cousin. My beard was redish and turned grey way ahead of my head. My mom had that grey that looked blondish before it ended up more grey. She's 91.

You might be right about smoking weed, or at least maintaining a lower stress level in general. But I'll tell you what drug affects greying. Cocaine. The people I knew that messed with that all got grey way earlier than others.

Re: Share your little know fact ..Here is mine

Red hair runs in my family. Must have something to do with both grandfathers being red heads. My eldest sister and one younger brother have/had red hair, 2 out of 8 spawn. It skipped our parents. Of the 14 grandchildren, 6 have red hair, including one of my sons. That's just from my mom and dad. As for gray hair, I have it a little at the temples at age 68. My father's mother and my father had nearly black hair late into life, just a little gray. Now, if my hairline hadn't started out high and then receded...

I just remembered a little know fact when I was cleaning out our Micro Wave today from the blow up I had warming up some food..
We have a plastic see through round thing like a bowl in the Micro Wave that is hung from the ceiling inside of it ...
What it hangs by is Magnets that are connected to the Plastic Bowl and one can just take it down and cover a plate of food and keep a blow out from getting all over inside ,,,which I forgot to do .. I did Not Know a year ago or so that one could put Magnets in a Micro Wave while it was in Operation

I guess it would depend on what the magnet is made of. I see a lot of microwave safe stuff these days that sure look like metal to me. But it works just fine. Somebody figured something out.

I remember not paying attention and putting leftovers wrapped in foil in a microwave.

This is not a good idea. Don't try this at home kids...Unless you want to see a fireworks show.

Off the top of my head, I'd say that 300 series stainless would be OK in the microwave, since it has an extremely low magnetic moment, but there should be no sharp edges for corona discharge to develop on. Any EEs or other physicists care to opine?

I gather it's a fancy way of saying "have an opinion to offer". It does make for a good name for people who offer an opinion a lot. Like they are their own critter. There's equine for horses and there are opines for full of what horses leave behind
