Ok, so are these trucks supposed to have a sway bar?!? Am i on drugs or what? I don't see one under my truck. I'm hearing it could be either 1 1/8" or 1 3/16", and it supposed to connect to the lower A arms, but....I'm not seeing anything but the idle arm from the pitman arm to the passenger side spindle, and the basic control arms at the base of both A arms. Anyone care to help me out here?

It was optional...my 69 GMC does not have one either.

You can get one off of any '65 - 87 chevy/GMC 10, 20, 30 truck/suburban/panel/blazer/cab-chassis vehicle, as long as it is 2 wheel drive.
The van's might work, but that is uncharted teritory.
The one ton trucks would more likely than not have the bigger bars.

I think they were an option, not standard equipment until late 70's.

Even on the 71 and 72 model trucks I have, the options tag shows the "front sway bar" as an added option. Wierd.. I couldnt imagine driving one without it. Sort of like navigating a boat lol.

My 68 didn't haveone, but when I swapped in the 79 front end I got the sway bar from that as well. Along with the master, booster, pedal assembly and rear trans mount all for a 40 oz of dark rum

My GMC doesn't have them, and it doesn't lean TOO bad...then again, the front tires are so bald the traction goves out before the door handles actually scratch the street.

The 68 3/4 ton I just bought has one and it's listed as an option I also have heavy duty rear springs also listed as an option

Ok, I feel a little better. I thought there for a second they were standard, which means I've been driving around without one, which would explain why the truck corners like a tool shed.

I've got what looks like factory rear sway on my 68 C-20, also has leaf helpers. Was that an option?

I had an 86 mustang, the front sway bars are huge. the biggesbt I have ever seen. They will almost bolt on to the front of these trucks.

They were an option part, 1 1/16 diam.

Front bars were an option item, not standard equipment. They never had a rear bar. Rear leaf overloads were an option too.

You fellas wanna see a HUGE sway bar look under a 00 silverado half ton. The companies dont even sell bushings for them yet. the thing is 1 and 15/16, i'm not kidding either, heck that's almost a pro off road series size!
