Re: WTB: '95 HVAC Control Panel

Does this style differ from that in a 99?

Re: WTB: '95 HVAC Control Panel

I'm not sure. I should look it up again. I was going to start a thread asking that question. I understand there are things about the '95s that are one year only under the dash. I need to be sure if I'm buying one used. I see them on Ebay listed as 96-00 (fits 95). If that's true why aren't they listed as 95-00? Maybe it takes a plug adapter, or fits 96-00 (can be made to work for 95)

Re: WTB: '95 HVAC Control Panel

I’ve got a spare correct for 99 but unsure if it’s compatible or correct for 95

Re: WTB: '95 HVAC Control Panel

Would think that any would work from the GMT400 based Suburbans/Tahoes or C2500 WT. What are they used?

Re: WTB: '95 HVAC Control Panel

They are running close to $100 on Ebay. The problem with mine was brittle plastic. The fan switch stopped working and when I replaced it everything I touched broke. I was going to JB Weld the switch to the panel but it went bad in two weeks, before I put the dash back together. So I figure get the whole deal. I started a thread on the message board to see what I can find out

Re: WTB: '95 HVAC Control Panel

The plastic is really brittle on the OE pieces. I accidentally broke parts from my 99 Suburban when upgrading the stereo and had no luck with a JB Weld repair. I bought a GM replacement but suspect it's no better and probably the same as aftermarket replacements, which are cheaper.

Re: WTB: '95 HVAC Control Panel

Yeah, a vicious cycle. buy a good original used part and it's brittle or buy new replacement with fresh new plastic but inferior quality. I guess I'll try another fan switch until I can find a rare '95-only HVAC control panel with good clips w/o rear window defogger. Shew! That almost took a whole line to type. Won't be easy. I should have added "from a parked in climate controlled garage low mileage CK from a cooler climate"

I went to Chevys, largely, because of parts simplicity and availability. Things have changed along the way.

Re: WTB: '95 HVAC Control Panel

I didn't see where they gave what year those are for. I looked that number up and got 96-00 results. Dang! I need to spend $200 on a simple harness adaptor. Twice as much as the cost of the control panel.
