Once again. Seems like we just did it 2 months ago.

Re: Time change weekend

Doesn't bother me one bit. Like it never bothered anyone back before whining became more popular. I have a Sony alarm clock by my bed. I figured I was buying quality after the old LCD clock from the '80s finally lost some "bars". This damn Sony resets itself to 14 minutes fast no matter how many times I set it. Last Monday I saw I was running late and rushed out the door. On the road I check the time and saw I was an hour earlier than I thought. Now the dang thing sets ahead 5 days early. That's a problem no matter how you slice it. Everybody needs to be on the same time no matter what it is

Dang it! I just bought this clock that tells time all over the world. I hope that I don't have to change all of them.

Re: Time change weekend

Yeap, my wife has a thing for clocks, so I will spend the next 3 days trying to get them all set.

My grandfather had one clock. He said "If you have one clock you always know what time it is. If you have more than one you are never quite sure."

lol, hopefully it’s an Automic clock and you won’t have too! I will say, I like the Automic clocks, that way they change themselves. But I really wish they would stop with the time changes and just leave it alone now. But I doubt it will happen.

I like this spring forward.

I wish it would stay on This Time.

Or just turn it back 1/2 hour in Fall and leave it alone.

Most of the world is smart enough to not do daylight savings. But yeah automatic adjusting clocks are good.

Re: Time change weekend

I believe 60% of the world uses DST. It's not used close to the Equator because their daylight varies only slightly through the year. In the far north and south they also don't, due to the extreme changes in daylight resulting in little change. A lot of people today say they'd like to see DST eliminated, but I thought everybody loves how in the summer we get daylight till 9pm and that's what they miss as the season ends. No matter what, every year we have to adjust to the variation of daylight hours. For me, adjusting to the clock change for a day or two is nothing compared to that...which we can do nothing about. Well, unless we move near the Equator. But they don't get the long days we do

Re: Time change weekend

Imho… regardless of how we feel about it, “changing time” is a stupid concept. If there’s a problem start the work day an hour earlier or later if you need to. It’s like half the year we want to allow fisherman to keep smaller fish, so let’s change the length of the standard “inch” to accommodate. Lol

Re: Time change weekend

Not quite an equal comparison. I work for myself, and outside, so that's exactly what I do. I change my start/finish time by two hours. In summer start earlier because the daylight is there and to beat the heat. I eat lunch earlier and just long enough to eat my sandwich and done by 2pm. 3pm-on is the hottest part of the day. In winter, by 8-9am the sun is above the trees, frost is melting off, and I'm still working at the warmest part of the day. Working 7-3:30 is foolish to me. Start work in the dim light and freezing cold, then pack up at the warmest part of the day. But most of the world works on a set clock. It's far more complicated for businesses to shift their schedule twice a year than everybody simply resetting the clocks. It's really not worth the time spent talking about it, if you ask me. There are bigger fish to fry

Far as my travels go, I think only US and Canada seem to be the only ones using it (not sure about Mexico). No one in the Far east Asia or Europe use it from what I remember. Don't think southern hemisphere uses i t either.

I stand corrected, some of Europe does it now too.

I think it was 60% of the world population use DST, not the world geography. Some parts of the world don't use clocks

The end of cabin fever season. That's a good gathering. You guys expecting a big snow now? Or is that farther up the range?
We are having way above normal temperatures this week. Going to be upper 70s close to 80 when the 50s is normal. Last night was in the upper 50s. By next week it will be below average by a bit. One day in the upper 40s.

Well ...we got hit hard. Over a foot of wet snow . Our power went out Thursday morning at around 9:30 and didn't come back 'til 5:30 Friday evening. made a mess of things. Here are a couple of pictures I took. I think we got around 14"I took the pictures on Thursday and it snowed more overnight into Friday. The second picture was taken through a window from inside the house.

I heard the snow was heavy and huge and in severe thunderstorms would be coming across. Yesterday it hit 80 and was in the 60s last night. So far this month we have had only one day that wasn't pretty well above average
