Thanks! A little more progress has been made. I finally finished the fuel filler and LED tail lights, along with a few other things. I still haven't filled the tank yet though.

What holds the tailight in the up/closed position?

Yes they are! And that's just with the parking lights on! They really aren't as bright as they look in the pic, but definately brighter than stock.

It has a throttle spring mounted at a angle so that it holds it closed, and when you open it, the spring cams over and holds it open. This is the best pic that I could get of it. You can see where the spring hooks into the light housing in the bottom pic, just below my finger.

Thanks for the paint info! Your truck is coming along nicely. I like the fuel filler - great idea. Looking good!

Bed floor done, with hidden bed mounting bolts. This is white oak, with a little stain on it to bring the grain out, and about 5 coats of Helmsman spar urethane.

wow, it looks awesome! I haven't followed your build for a while, and man, what a killer ride.

I'm interested in how filling your tank goes, cause I put my filler in the same spot years and years ago. Without the vent line, it was a trickle fill! lol, but after I put the vent in, it filled much faster. I used 1 3/4" marine filler hose, don't know what size you used... Also, watch the pump, ime the auto shut off won't shut off until the tank is about to overflow and does overflow. your fill opening is about 3" or so higher than mine though, maybe it's just enough you won't get gas all over the place...

bed looks just great though, hell the whole truck does

Re: HuggerCST's '70 SWB CST build

Thanks for the comments! I think the wood turned out great. I experimented with several stains until I found one that I liked. This one has a slight orange tint, which looks nice with the orange paint.

Mordachai- I think that I used 1.5" because things were pretty tight in there. After it makes the turn, it expands to 2" into the tank. I added a vent line from the filler to the tank, and a vent on top of the tank, so I'm hoping that I don't have any problems, but we'll see.

A little more progress. Almost done with the interior...for now. I love the buckets/console, but hate that my two boys can't ride, so I'm considering taking the center seat from a set of buddy buckets, fabbing some brackets, having it upholstered to match, and bolting it in. I can always swap them in & out if I do it right. Hopefully I can find material to do it and make it look like it belongs.

Holycrap batman, that is looking absolutely amazing! i am also curious on dfilling it with fuel, but i still love the mod, definetly nice and she sure is looking shiney! i agree on the center seat, you gotta have the kids with you for rides, or it just will not be the same, that is the reasson i have a bench in mine now, for the wife and kid, they have to enjoy also.

 If you could see it now you'd probably say "No way"! No front sheetmetal on it, no bed on it, no exhaust, and I'm working on repainting a couple of spots, so I have a LOT to do, but I'm still going to try.
