I'm getting closer. The exhaust is done for now. I made my own using flowmasters and it sounds great, but I dumped it in front of the rearend for now, just to save time. I'll go back and add some tailpipes later. I got the bed, bumper and tailgate back on too, so I'm pretty much done with it from the cab back. Now I just have to assemble the front sheetmetal and finish a few details. I hope to have it driveable next week.:metal:

Thanks guys. Yes I'm getting pretty excited. While working on getting insurance for it the other day I looked at the date on the title and I actually bought it in June of '99, and took it apart not long after that, so after 10 years of saving, collecting parts, and working on this thing, it's about time!:D

I will say one thing, this board, and the people here helped a LOT along the way with keeping me motivated, helping me find parts, and improving the quality of my work.

You are one of those guys. Good job. Like you said motivation. I like seeing your truck and it took ten years. That is ten years of dedication. Not everybody has alot of time and money. But your heart is in it and look at what you built that is awesome. I hope you enjoy the fruits of your labor. And a few burnouts(ha ha)

Getting closer. Still have to put the bumper, grille, and inner fenders on, then a lot of cleaning, a few touch ups, and go over again to see how many bolts I forgot to tighten. I want to drive it to a show in Natchitoches, La. this saturday.

Re: HuggerCST's '70 SWB CST build

;) I've made a lot of progress. For the most part it is DONE! I got to drive it tonight and it rode and drove great, but had a dead miss. That was a bummer, but it turned out to be a plug wire against the header. I still have to buff a few places, wash it, fix the horn, fix the inner door handle on the driver's door, get the front end aligned, touch up a few places...that kind of stuff. I'm going to try and get a video and some better pics of it finished. Tomorrow I want to fill the tank and test the fuel filler.

Thanks guys. Yes, I'm just as excited as you can imagine. Driving it is a blast, just as I thought it would be. I didn't get much done today, but I did get to fill the tank, and the fuel filler worked fantastic. Wide open gas nozzle was no problem, so that was nice. Sorry, I haven't had time to shoot the video yet. Never put one on the net before, but hopefully I can figure it out.

What a great build thread! That is one of the most beautiful trucks I have seen in a long time. I can't wait until the day I can get one to look like that. Congratulations!!!
