Re: My tach install thread

The 63 bracket is too cost prohibitive. It was too time consuming. It would be $200. And i have to have your cluster to do the modification. It really would only be for a performance application, because of the higher RPM sweep. The reproduction tach is a better option.

Re: My tach install thread

I understand your pricing, if you start making them let me know.

I'm sure you've looked at the other thread about making this Tach into a (V8) 6000 rmp tach by setting it to 4cyl and printing a new gauge face.

I have a 6cyl and I plan to set it as a 4cyl and see where it points, using a second tach to know where is at 1k rpm, 2k rpm ect. Then I hope to print a new gauge face. I will probably get it down to 7000 rpm tach.

The main thing I have learned here is the same tach fits both gauge clusters.
Thanks,
Ken

No I haven't . I started to and couldn't bring myself to cut into it.
So are you doing the mod for the 1963 cluster now. Is that what you have pictured?

Re: My tach install thread

64-66 pictured. Not doing the 63, too cost prohibitive. Unless someone really really really wants one.

I went to your for sale thread. I don't mind paying you now as long as you will eventually be making them.

Re: My tach install thread

So it has come to light that some people are cutting the chrome cup off the Bosch FST850 Tach. I dont recommend this. Tachometers can be delicate devices. I would hate to see someone have trouble and have to spend money on another tach. I designed my bracket to fit as comes out of the box.

Anyone have any pics to share of the installation of their bracket?

Re: My tach install thread

Looking for a 63 gauge cluster that looks like this. Considering making a second bracket for the 60-63 years.
