Is there a write up for this one on how you did the install/hook-up? That looks very nice!

Tach dash upgrade from Brothers, bought it when they had it on sale for $200 or so. Works well.

Are you using HEI or stock distributor?

HEI. No problems. My understanding is that as long as you have a "TACH" output tab on the distributor you're good to go.

I call my RPM gauge a tach . Right now, in my K2500 I'm running a restored factory tach dash and replated bezel done by Cheyenne Superman in '89. This is the second truck it's been in. I thought I had a picture, but don't seem to

And just what is that you did there, sir? Curious minds would like to know. Very nice.

That's the set-up I have in moth balls for my K2500, along with matching woodgrain panels done very nicely that I got from Jerry Brown.

I like that. I have tach dashes and have been all about them since I found out they existed. But for my '67 GMC SWB retro hot truck I've decided to do this same thing. This is what everyone did in the day. I saw very few vehicles with tach dashes back then, but everyone had to have a tach. I'm talking Chevelles to trucks. I'm actually thinking to use a no gauge cluster and add the 3-gauge set-up under the dash as well

Good to know Bosch makes these. I'll be checking into one once I'm ready

Just an FYI, received a Brothers flyer in the mail today and the tach conversion kit I used above is on sale for $199.99, regularly $375. No, I don't work for Brothers;)

Sale lasts through 10/31.

3 3/8 in dash auto meter sunk in the factory hole. Never hooked it back up after the diesel install though.

So diesels require a special kind of tach?

I am not a diesel tech but I know some are cable driven. No electrical. Newer diesel trucks use computer signal.

Very nice work. Are there numbers above the graduation marks on the small gauges? Maybe I am seeing things. Overlay, rescreen?? Very curious. I am in the works of putting out some overlays with numbers for temp, oil, values.

Re: pics of your rpm guage setups...custom or stock looking

Hey Tbone, The oil pressure guage and the water temp guage have the numbers printed on the guage. No vacumn. The tach, bezel, and lens are all stock replacements. I also replaced all the bulbs and the printed circuit. Everything was available at Brothers. Cheers, Jack

Yes/no. I just haven’t gotten around to it because I don’t actually need a tach. My situation I have everything to wire it, just haven’t. Don’t wanna derail the thread so any questions just pm me

Thanks. A friend suggested re-engining my '67 K/10 Suburban with a diesel powerplant. I intend to replace the [non-original] 454, but I don't know what I want yet.

Right now, I don't have a diesel, so it's not a problem.
I've been saving a set of Autometer gauges, Tach, Vacuum. Oil Pressure and Water Temperature -- to set into the stock Deluxe 7 hole cluster in my '71 GMC Jimmy. I was thinking of having the gauges stick out, like your tach, but I'll still need the stock Speedo/odometer and Fuel gauges. Not sure how that would look with a mixture of recessed and protruding dials...

If you make some for the temperature gauge I would be interested in an overlay.

Is that a transmission temp gauge I see in the bottom of the fuel gauge?

madkid007 -- That could work since I'm more interested in the raw analog data than aesthetics, form, or time/portal regulations.

Check out Classic Industries G-Stock series gauges. Their gauges match the factory gauges pretty well. Not exact, but blends in with the stock gauges. I was thinking of installing 3-3/8 into the stock location. Sorry for the huge image size.
