Hit a lil snag.
The intake is pitted around coolant ports; probably in leaky regions. Otherwise nearly zero coolant corrosion found. K1500 had fresh coolant most of it's life. Probably lay down some Ultra RTV and go for it. Will think about having it surfaced but may give RTV a try first. |

Re: 1999 350 vortec K1500 head gasket
That's not bad at all compared to some. If you use the Good Fel-Pro gaskets it will most likely not leak.....But I put a very small bead of Ultra Grey around the water ports of intake manifolds on ALL engines.

Four bolt baby!
Runs like a dream. Healthy as a horse; leaks not a drop. Mistake I made was not replacing the OEM spider; the old spider fouled passenger bank plugs. Penny wise pound foolish. I though I was careful w/ OEM spider but I guess not. Put new design spider in and all is well. Already dumped first run oil and looks good; will dissect filter later. All I can do not to red line it but I'll try and behave till 500 miles in. |

The rubber like seals had little elasticity and broke very easy; not sure what to blame but pretty sure they would be more robust and elastic when new. The plastic support for the rubbery seals easily broke also. |
