Best way to run return fuel line
As part of my engine swap I need a return fuel line. Is there a different pickup or an unused vent on my current tank I can use?
Thanks! |
Re: Best way to run return fuel line
When I converted to fuel injection I ran the return line down the drivers rail.
There are no unused ports on the tank. I tried using the small vent line that runs beside the large fuel fill tube but that cause fuel filling issue's. I ended up making a "T" that went inline on the fuel fill hose. Worked great. It's just a piece of tubing with a barbed fitting screwed into it. I put JB weld around the barbed fitting just in case. It's never leaked...and it was cheap. I think Jeg's sells something similar though. https://media.fotki.com/2v36BfrWx2pvgi.jpg |

The ideal way would be to modify the sending unit to have the return in it.
You could buy a new sender and have a welder tig a 5/16" pipe in or whatever size you want in place. There are also pass-through style fittings that you can piece together your system with. |

Perfect, thanks for the ideas guys. I will be dropping the tank to clean it and replace the sender so I will likely go with the modification/welding route. BobbyK, the inline return is pretty slick. Sure saves a lot of work!
