203 transfer case swap with a 205

My 203 transfer case went out on my 79' Chevy k20. Actually it exploded and now my daily driver is sitting In my garage. After doing some research, I have decided to swap the 203 with a built 205 tcase. Does anyone have any advice on what I'll need or anything that can help is appreciated!

if the trans is th400

shifter assembly is different .

adaptor is different .

output shaft in trans is longer . 203 is shortest . the rest are longer for each combo .

driveshaft lengths will be different .

otherwise its a fairly straight forward swap .

let me know if you scrap the 203 . drop me a pm .

If your trans is a th350, then a 205 will be a bolt on affair... If you're running a th400 a trans rebuild will go along with the swap just fine. Doesn't cost too much to just throw in a banner kit when you swap outputs provided your trans is working fine now.
