Collapsible is safer and in my opinion the way to go.

Re: steering shaft question

Rag joint with two different spline count halves? Borgeson Joint?

Definitely collapsible. From a safety aspect, the box is way too close to the front for a straight shaft. I knew a guy that got speared by one. It only happened once.

Yeah, I've been browsing their site.
I guess I don't know exactly which pieces I need for a 65 2wd.
I even sent them an email asking. They still haven't replied.
I just figured if someone ordered such and such pieces and it worked, then I could just order the same.
I'll keep researching.

i ended up ordering borgeson 3/4 DD x 3/4 x 30 vibration u joint for the steering box end (my box is 3/4 x 30 spline )part#154931 (stainless)
column end u joint (stainless) 3/4-36 spline x 1'' DD part # 113452
collapsible shaft part #450024 they also have 36" but i don't think we need that long
just have to check your steering box spline size and your column end spline size
funny,i emailed them and they got back to me within minutes.maybe they got busy.ordered through summit.hope this helps....dan
