big block 402 engine brackets
Just bought a 402 for my 69 truck don't remember mounting bracket location and engine came with some of them this one has alternator on passenger side i dont think thats right maybe it is
need photos or help so i know what to buy thanks |
Re: big block 402 engine brackets
The truck pulleys and mounting brackets are the same as the 65-68 big block Chevelles if you are looking for a source for replacements.
But you are correct, passenger side alternator setup was for the long water pump that was never installed on 68-72 big block trucks. Sounds like somebody swapped a big block into your truck from a 73 and up truck donor or 69 and up car donor. |

It’s mounted to the driver side fender.

From a dry run I did. Shows all the brackets. It doesn't show the retainers/clamps near the evap. I have assembly instructions if you need it, down to the bolt type.

Re: big block 402 engine brackets
Found a thread using search box at top of page with check box for this site selected. There are some included that had a bracket from radiator support, but the big block trucks I have owned (70 and 71)have had it like on fender.
