Ls swap headers????
Guys post some pictures of your engine mounts, trans crossmember, and your headers. I have a 69 c10 and I need some headers for it thy will fit with no modification. Now that I live in the real world explain what you did and how you did it to make it fit. Thank everyone.

Re: Ls swap headers????
I did a 6.0 LS swap with stainless work headers with no mods. Just a little tweeking on passenger side frame rail. When you look at it it's impossible to see it.

The Doug Thorley's seem to be very popular with the LS swaps. They fit really well and look nice.

Re: Ls swap headers????
Another vote for Doug Thorley's, POL tubular motor mounts and adapter plates, slid right in with no clearance issues at all.

Re: Ls swap headers????
Hedman also makes LS swap headers specifically for the C10 trucks. We are a dealer, so let m know if we can help you out.

Re: Ls swap headers????
As of now I will be using early classic mounts and trans crossmember. My factory exhaust manifold r cracked at welds. However what I am looking for is something nice, fairly cheap that will get the job done without turning into a hack job.

Re: Ls swap headers????
Another member told me these were the best choice are far as cheap and effectiveness. Any input?

The main thing I don't like about long tube headers besides the cost is their only advantage in flow performance is seen above 6000 RPM typically and every one made the collectors hang down below the frame rails.
Having done many hot rods and my 2nd GMC truck I wanted the entire exhaust up inside the frame rails. New Camaro owners love installing long tube headers on their New car, so the LS3 OEM exhaust manifolds are every where used and Cheap. Mine came off a crate engine never used. The OEM 5.3 truck manifolds hit the frame rails on these old trucks, these 2013 Camaro LS3 manifolds tuck inside the frame rails, you use the stock Camaro head pipes cut-off in front of the cats, preserving the O2 sensor bungs. My exhaust is run where I want it, No clearance issues. The LS3 Camaro made in stock configuration 436 HP with these manifolds. I'm happy, just my two cents |
Re: Ls swap headers????
I think I'm going to try and find some. Thanks do u you happen to know where any are for cheap?

Re: Ls swap headers????
Really nice work, especially for desert dwellers
Is that a radiator you guys sell? Stock mounts? |
Re: Ls swap headers????
I used the pacesetter TBSS longtubes on my '66 lwb
stock sbc pedestals and $40 ebay adapters needed to trim the frame 1/4" with a cutoff wheel but otherwise I'm happy. they were like $250 from amazon fyi, they exit tucked way up in the frame had to use s-bends to go under the trans cross member (pre 75 dual exhaust style one) |
