Re: One-Man Cab & Bed Lift
I had the idea to lay it on the bed floor so I could make some arms to bolt up the bed floor to the dolly to provide a stable place to work on the bed and maybe even flip it over to clean up the underside. I have two or three naked bed floors and my bed dolly stays busy holding other things, just a thought.

Re: One-Man Cab & Bed Lift
Hi Kevin, I like your bed and cab lifter, would it also work for the '73-'87 cabs?

Re: One-Man Cab & Bed Lift
Are these plans still available? Saw it mentioned that the plans were $18 now. Just wanted to make sure before I sent over the payment (wanting both the bed lift and cab dolly instructions). Thanks!

Re: One-Man Cab & Bed Lift
I'm shure evey know u can make the cab lift with 2x4s and the cab dolly. I've made a the bed lift with metal sleeve tubes not that hard to make. But steel was a little pricey and my local steel yard.. i think I just saved $100 then to buy a new one all ready made.. but it works great!!!

Re: One-Man Cab & Bed Lift
Member WiggyHD and I built one[cab flipper] to bolt his cab onto and I plan on using it for some of the 6 trucks I have in line to work on and just want to say LOVE it

Re: One-Man Cab & Bed Lift
I also purchased the plans and built one. It is extremely useful. It has become one those tools I could not do without as I usually work alone.

Re: One-Man Cab & Bed Lift
Anyone else have the problem when they built the lift and tip and flip dolly that their cherry picker legs are too tall and will not slide under the dolly making it so I cannot transfer the cab (on the cherry picker) to the dolly?
This also got me to thinking about transitioning the dolly from wheels to the legs. I had thought that I would just use the cherry picker to lift the cab up and off the wheels and stick the legs in and lower, but with the cherry picker not fitting underneath, that is a no go. -Bob |

Re: One-Man Cab & Bed Lift
Sorry guys I haven't been around for a bit, new job has taken over all my waking hours and then so but it's starting to calm down a bit.
If you have any questions or concerns please PM me and I will always get back to you as I check for PM's weekly just don't surf the site as often. As for the clearance issue with the engine hoist not fitting under you can use larger diameter wheels or add a block between the wheel mount and the bottom of the dolly. As for lifting it to add the legs I always use a floor jack. Kevin LFD |
